Still got to clear Selig. Monday trade should be final.

Trade possibly involving Jerry Hairston Jr and a couple of minor leaguers.

If you look back on here I said 1 or 2 months ago he would not make it to spring training and a few people said I was nuts, either cubs would not trade him was some replays and a few others said he had to much money tied up for anyone to take him. Still not done quite yet but it will be done soon, hagling over a few minor leauge players.

I tell you what little by little balt are getting team put together, some of the players they have don't have lot of time left but they have the players and will get more to get back to where they were use to being for along time. They need to grab a 1 or 2 pitchers but they are going the right way from where they have been . balt is not use to losing then they hit that bad spell and some bad trades and just have been in a rut for awhile, this is a team that owner expects to win and will spend money to get back to where the O's use to be, to bad my pirates will still suck for 5 more years at least. Teir old GM messed them up so much with cap money and bad trades for big name over the hill players that it has had them crippled for almost 9 years and will take 5 more years to crawl out from under the mess he caused a once great team from the early you can check if your younger but pirates were a long time power house from the 70's to 1992-93 then since then it has been all down hill very sad. then they get good young plays tons of pitchers who they drafted built up and then after they have 3-4 good years out of them they lose them in trades because they no they won't be able to sign them. look at some of the good pitchers in baseball in there late 20's on lot of teams and you will see they started with the bucos.

cubs have great pitching but they are losing players who have power and hitter that will effect them big time IMO. Sosa did not want to be there anymore and think it was about the same feelings from the cubs fans. He never did get along with the lizard, he will have some very good years with the O's and the ball jumps more at the yard then at wrigley. people think wrigley is a hitter park but it is more of a pitchers park for most of the year, yes you have your times when the wind blows out bigtime and a pop up can go out and you have some high scoring games. That is what sticks in peoples mind but really it is a good park for pitchers. Sammy will hit a good amount of 4 baggers at home, like i said the ball flys there. Opp hitters love to come there and play, almost as much as nl players like to go to colorado to play as a team on the road. say all you want about sammy yes his glove is not that good but till the lizard came he was the cubs the city loved him and he played very well but once it was clear they hated each other I think he really did not care and things like that does screw with a players mind, he gave the cubs many good year till the last year when him and the lizard really hit the wall. I am glad he got traded for him so he did not have to rote under the lizard who i ahve said on this form many of times is not a very good manager and will stand behind that. hell giants ran him after winning a nlcs title. he is hard headed and can't get along with lot of players or upper management that is what got him ran with the giants, you can say he wanted out but they upper management wanted him gone and so did lot of players. Alou did not get along with the lizard, I can't wait for cubs to give him the boot in a year or 2. The O's have to be very happy they have the hitters and deff, starting pitching has really let them down the last few year when it should of been better much better then it was. They could be a team to watch said that last year but starting pitching let them down more the hitting aand deff, This just makes the O's that much better on off but the glove can be a weakspot at times for him, he still has a cannon and can still run if they the O's chosse to run him something cubs quit doing last 3 years. very happy he got out from under the lizard, now just get rid of the lizzard and i can enjoy the cubs more, they are a team I have always liked but under dusty I would wish them to lose because I think he is a poor manager IMO again and have many others who think so also.

i am also glad he got the trade because like I said he played hard for the cubs uo untill last year where it was just a war between those 2. then cub fans started taking it out on him at the end of the year,so yes he is going to be upset some because he gave them everything he had for a nice stretch but cub fan forgot towards the end of the year how much he really brought to the team and the city. he was never a I am the team player, he was a good team player that busted his ass till the lizard ruined that over the last few years. The end of it all was set in moation last spring training him and the scale man had words from sprig training on more then they had ever had. look how waving winndle was treated all do to dusty i will stab you in the back to save my own ass baker.

you can take as much juice as you want you still have to have the great hand eye coord. to hit the ball and hit it on the sweet spot , juice does not help you with that or bat speed, it adds like i have said many times 15-20 feet tops, hell ishould know was on it and coached enough guys who i know who were on it, hell lsu a few years ago their whole team i lay odds were on it almost.

people can say all they want about bonds also trust me juice has been in baseball for many of years but juice or no juice and till it is proven looks or not you can't say a guys is on it for sure, creatain makes your head and body swell also but bonds is still one of the top 5 players to ever play the game hands down. he has the greatest eye of all time juice does not help you there if anything it takes away from eye sight blurs it some. and sosa is not bad news like i said above he did more for cubs and the city then they did for him, he got a bad rap because of the lizard and him did not like each other and he is far from the first who thought dusty was a dick.

and if mets had any chance owner is feeding a line of bs they would of jumped all over him, he has never caused trouble in club house easy to get along with, team and club house leade how can he say he is bad news??? like I said this was a respect thing and dusty caused it not sammy and dusty made it to the point of no return towards the end of the year. you will see he will hit 290 to 320 and 35-45 dongs and 90-100 + rbi

Agree that it doesn't help hand-eye coordination but disagree about bat speed. Don't understand how you come up with that.

Just what the Orioles needed....another ex-slugger whose numbers are on a steady decline into retirement. Should be well worth the 30 mil the O's will probably have to shell out for the next couple years.

Good job Flanagan and Beattie....and here I thought you just found a great savings account bearing over 2.5% interest to keep your money in.

I think I'll become a Washington Senators fan, or whatever they're gonna be called if they play down there.

umm Cubs are picking up over 10 million for this season and Sosa is waiving next year and option year of contract. The O's will sign him to a 2 year contract, but for no where near 30 million. This is a no lose situation for the birds, Hairston will be a solid player but he was a man without a position here anyway. Fontenot and Crouthers are both journeymen at best. They still maintained Julio which leaves them open to try and trade for a starting pitcher. I would LOVE to see Ben Sheets in an O uniform but would settle for Vazquez. If they are able to get a starter they would not be to far away from being a wild card team.[/QUOTE]

Well home dog I played and coached long enough in college and minors to know that it slows bat speed down due to build up of mass and water. You have to do extra stretching for flexibility and work on extra speed drills(like short bp, quick soft toss, hitting off iron mike at 45 feet and other things) speed drills produce bat speed nothing else will. Juice Creates strength if you work out, strength and speed are 2 different things. Power comes from speed not strength unless your playing slow pitch softball. Bat speed must be work on all the time. Least the juice and stacks you take for baseball not like the same cocktail as a track star would use that is how I came up with it and from personal use as a player. And seeing many other players in college and minors use it.

KD remember your post at the end of the year, hell he hit what 35 home runs and 95 rbi as a unhappy player last year who missed how many game? he will put up great number at the yard it is a made to order hitters park and they will not pay a ton for him, cubs will pay more or as much as the o's will or close to it. O's only have to sign him for 1 year he is a free agent at the end of next season.

Shawn and Fletch-------I hope you're both right, but in my opinion the primary reason for getting Sosa is to win back whatever fan base the Orioles would lose in the next couple years with the Washington team coming to the area.

If the Orioles dont improve their starting pitching soon, the only numbers Sosa will affect are in the attendence column.
