I feel very strongly about these future wagers and am confident I will come out ahead. I am risking a lot of $$$ but I like my chances. These wagers are for who wins the NCAA National Championship! I think the only odds that have changed is Kansas at 15-1 went to 10-1 after my wager @Betwwts. So if you choose to jump on in with me, you can.

*Illinois ---> $1,600 to win $9,520
+595 @Olympic

*North Carolina ---> $1,713 to win $7,794
+455 @Olympic

*Wake Forest ---> $500 to win $5,000
10-1 @Betwwts

*Kansas ---> $300 to win $4,500
15-1 @Betwwts

*Georgia Tech ---> $200 to win $4,000
20-1 @Betwwts

*Washington ---> $100 to win $4,000
40-1 @Betwwts

If Illinois wins it --> + $6,707 profit
If NC wins it --> + $5,094 profit
If WF wins it --> + $1,087 profit
If KU wins it --> + $387 profit
If GT wins it --> + $327 profit
If UW wins it --> + $687 profit
If neither of those 6 teams win it --> - $4,112 loss:cry:

*I received a bonus of $300 depositing OLY so i did not count that in my personal losses.

I think Illinois and North Carolina are the creme of the crop and I am obviously rooting for them to win it all. Wake Forest and Kansas are almost as talented and could win it all. GT I am taking a chance on because I feel "if" they get Elders back they will be a very dangerous team. So hopefully he recovers and comes back. UW is also a very dangerous team and I enjoy watching them play.

Value

I got Illinois at almost 6-1 where most places have them at 3.5-1 & 4-1.

I got NC at 4.5-1 where most places have them at 3.5-1 and 4-1.

I got WF at 10-1 where most places have them at best 7-1.

I got Kansas at 15-1 and the highest I seen them at was 9-1 and most places have them around 7-1.

I got GT at 20-1 where OLY has them at 12.5-1 and others have them at 15-1.

I got UW at 40-1 where OLY has 35-1 and WSEX has them at 24-1.

Illinois IMO is the best all around team offensively/defensively combined. NC IMO is the best offensive team in the country and they are picking it up defensively as well. Def. the 2 elite teams. WF IMO has an awesome offense and the best player in the country. Their defense has me concerned otherwise I prob. put little more $$$ on them. KU is a solid club and I think they have decent chance at winning it all and at 15-1 I got extreme value. Could be a #1 seed in Tourney. GT is a little risky but I think with Elders back (hopefully) and them making the Tourney (hopefully) they will be a VERY dangerous team. Can't pass up 20-1 odds on a team who I think might be very dangerous and its only a $200 risk at 20-1 odds. OLY has them at 12.5-1 so I got great value. Like GT, UW is dangerous and at 40-1 couldn't pass it up. They have good depth and I enjoy watching them play. I think I heard the RPI has the Pac 10 ranked as one of the best conf. and I think UW is the best Pac 10 team or at least on par with Arizona and UA is 25-1 to win it all. Gotta like UW at 40-1.

I know future wagers are not the smartest thing but thats why it is called gambling. Winning the NCAA Tourney is extremely tough for any team and injuries prior to tourney and during tourney could cost me $$$$. Big risk but hopefully no team suffers injuries. Illinois and NC can overcome injuries at certain positions because they are so deep so thats a good thing. That said, I can afford to lose 4k on this if I lose but I am sure as hell gonna have a fun tourney to watch. So i think its worth it and should make some $$$$ at the end.

I want and am hopeful that NC and Illinois will be be on opposite sides of the bracket and have the potential to meet up in the finals. That would be sweet. I also think WF and KU have decent chance at being a #1 seed and very good chance at being #2 seed. Hopefully I can get NC, IL, WF, and KU all in different regions so each can have the "chance" to meet up in the final 4. I doubt I will be so lucky but one can hope. GT is a team who I think with Elders could upset any of these 4 teams so that is why I took them in case that happens. Same with UW.

Teams who "realistically" could cost me 4k.

Kentucky
Duke
Syracuse
Louisville
Boston College

That said, I am not too worried about these teams or any other teams I looked past. I am confident with the 6 teams I have selected.

Lets say 4/6 teams I have $$$ on are the top 10 teams coming into the tourney, I think then I have at a min. 50% chance of winning $$$ and not losing 4k. Just my opinion. I am confident at least 4 of the 6 teams I selected will be one of the top 10 teams coming into the Tourney. In addition, I "could" possibly have the chance to try and hedge, middle, or cut my losses but I am going into March Madness with these 6 teams and I will accept a 4k loss if neither win the whole thing.

I think the ACC is the best conf. and I have NC & WF. Big 12 being the 2nd best conf. and I have KU. Big 10 being the 4th best conf. and I have ILL. Pac 10 beaing the 5th best and I have UW.

1/30 Rankings.........

A lot can happen for better or worse from now until March Madness and from the start of March Madness through the final four. Hopefully everything turns out for the best. If I lose 4k, hopefully its not because my team(s) suffered injuries. Thats all I ask.

they were saying on the local radio here, that even if Illinois wins the rest of their games, their RPI will still be #7 or 8.

Wake needs to tighten up the defense to be a serious contender.

Watch out for BAMA

Watch out for BAMA

Bama is very strong, and has the experience from going to the great 8 last year. They are big but not deep.

Just my thoughts.

I was thinking about Duke but they have depth issues and I think they will be somewhat exposed in the next couple weeks with a tougher schedule coming up. But they def. have chance to win it all.

rrc

Yes Wake Forest defense worries me but at 10-1 I get great value and they have the ability to win it all. If WF had better defense I prob. would have bet more on them, maybe $700 to win $7,000.

BigUnit

Your right I left out Bama on my list of teams that worry me. They can beat anybody if they are on their game but they play in the SEC and SEC is not that great this year.

I'd watch out for Pitt as well as Maryland. Those two teams have turned the corner and will be very dangerous come tourney time. I personally think UNC wins it all. Illinois has a bad stat going against them. Team's that have started the season 20-0 are 0-14 in national championships since Bob Knight's Indiana team in I believe 1974-75. I think UNC is the best team, but let's see if the curse of the choke followed Williams to UNC. I would not worry about Syracuse at the moment, they are playing very poorly. Pitt and BC are tough teams in the Big East which will likely send 7 teams total to the Dance. Good Luck.

the only future you will need is wake forest. ive got a good chunk invested in wake at 10/1 and ive still been adding to it at 7/1 and 8/1.

illinois better hope they lose to michigan state on tuesday if they want to win the national title. sounds paradoxical but if they dont lose tuesday, theres nobody thats gonna touch em the rest of the big 10 season. and the pressure would be too great on them in march.

to me, wake and carolina are the two best teams in the country and the deacs not only offer more value but are the more complete team.

I still really like my Hawks chances of having a shot at the title. Got them before the season at 17-1. They don't seem to be getting much respect lately, and I admit, the Nova game was a disaster. In hindsight though, that game had letdown written all over it. It just seems that people seem to forget about this senior class that has already been to 2 final 4s and one elite 8. Do I think they are playing like the top team in the country at this point? No, but I do think that none of the other top teams have as much room for improvement and growth, and that this team could peak at just the right time.
That being said, I also put a chunk, on Carolina, as well. They are scary good. GL.

Don't forget to throw in the Roy Williams factor when thinking about Carolina. He did some very average things with anything but average teams while at Kansas. :)

Scott,

What about Cuse? Personally, I think they could be the most dangerous team come March as they have a ton of experience, strong inside game and good outside shooting. This team is battle tested and has been there before.!

I have an account at carib too. Missed out on extre +500. Dammit. When I put my bets in carib did not have their futures up when I was looking around sporsbooks. Here is something else I found interesting.

Carib has Washington 10-1 at betwwts you can get Wasihington at 40-1. Sorta similar with that Maryland future you posted.

Master Capper

You may be right, Syracuse can win it all but I wouldn't have gotten great odds on Syracuse and I am greedy. My goal is to win with NC and Ill and the other teams is merely to just get my money back and make some $$$ in the process. NC and Illinois are my top dogs and hopefully one of them wins it. That is what I am counting on. Other teams are sorta insurance plans.
