Report: Chow will take Titans job
By Scott Wolf

The Tennessee Titans are expected to offer their offensive coordinator's job today to USC assistant coach Norm Chow, according to sources close to the situation.
Chow flew to Nashville, Tenn., on Thursday and formally interviews for the position today. He will receive an offer of approximately $1million per season, sources said. The Titans' offer means Chow must decide if he will leave USC following four successful years as offensive coordinator.
It is a difficult decision for Chow because his family relocated to Southern California last year and his two sons attend USC. But Chow's been unhappy recently over a potential change in his job title and uncertainty over his responsibilities.
USC coach Pete Carroll said Chow is the "likely candidate' to become the Trojans' assistant head coach and there is a possibility Chow would not retain the title of offensive coordinator. Carroll said he is happy with Chow and wants him to return next season, but sources close to Chow believe he is leaning toward going to Tennessee because increasing tension between he and Carroll.
If Chow leaves, a likely candidate to replace him is Oakland Raiders quarterbacks coach Steve Sarkisian, who coached at USC from 2001-2003.
Chow could not be reached for comment Thursday. Carroll said he expects things to become clearer in the next few days, as he tries to finalize his own staff changes. Officially, he needs to hire a quarterbacks coach, but Carroll also wants to promote graduate assistant Ken Norton to full-time status.
Carroll does not want to lose Norton and believes he could eventually serve as defensive coordinator.
If Chow wanted to stay in college football and spurn the NFL, one possible option is Washington, which needs an offensive coordinator. But Huskies coach Tyrone Willingham said this week Chow is not a candidate and is expected to hire former San Francisco 49ers assistant Tim Lappano.
