First the big game of the night with a big play:

North Carolina over Duke (waiting to see what happens with the line) BIG

Just like with Georgia Tech, this goes against my normal kind of play but there's a few reasons:

I believe North Carolina is the best team in the country like several

I believe Duke is overrated even though I give them credit with their impressive overall record. But these team doesn't have the horses that NC has.

Duke has won 9 of the last 10 mostly because they had the better teams in the past. Not true this year and no question North Carolina had this game marked ever since last year.

In February of previous years, I would have taken Duke (in similar situations like this game) and would have lost. The reason is that around this time of the year, the cream rises to the top. The pretenders start to slowly fade away while the real teams step up. I see Duke as a major pretender led by Reddick who is a very good shooter but selfish at times which ruins team chemisty and you simply can't waste chances against the Tar Heels even at Cameron. Its not enough during this time of the year to pick the home teams that are getting slighted by the books. . . it appears Duke is getting slighted by the books since they are a dog for the first time in a long time at home but there has to be a reason. We will see why Wednesday night ;)

Let me add something to think about here as well:

In the last 10 games (maybe more) Duke has NEVER been a dog to North Carolina (including the road games). So why are they now especially when Duke is at home?

UNLV -3 over Missouri average

Missouri not the same team on the road especially this year. Rebs should be more than ready for a win after losing a tough one to Utah. . . a game where they nearly matched Utah on the boards.

Funny, the North Carolina line movement went up to -3.5 and then shot down to -1. I'm taking NC on the ML at Olympic right now at -117 BIG. Great line considering the fact that LVSC released North Carolina at -2.5:

LVSC
2/08 16:44 ET - N. Carolina -2.5 (166.0o/u)
2/09 12:00 ET - N. Carolina -2.0 (164.0o/u)

good luck nickel. dont really agree with the north carolina play, but very much appreciate your contributions. thread needed a bump. vegas line looks almost too good to be true. i know unlv isnt necessarily a prideful team, but they got their asses handed to them in a BIG way last year against mizzou. hopefully they remember that.

Thanks G. . . I know most sharps like you won't agree with the NC play but this is one of my attempts to improve my capping this time of the year when I would normally be all over Duke.

Well congrats to Duke backers. . . would have been nice if NC would have at least taken a final shot. . . is that too much to ask for?
