I would just like to say as a new yorker, that i fully support the slugger and wish him all the best in the upcoming season. In fact, i'll be the first one on line at modells today buying his jersey

Thank you

Let's see what you've got to say in the middle of July when you've got a big play on the Yanks and he goes 0-4. :)

Just busting balls -- I actually hope Giambi finds a way to turn this all around.

Forget baseball....

hope the guy is healthy for the rest of his days,

and doesn't drop dead in the next 10-15 years.

We will be seeing that over the next decade+ IMO.

Maybe I'm being cavalier about this, but for every guy that dies from steriod side effects there are probably 50 guys that lead long, healthy lives. Especially since I assume the Balco products were top quality and I'm sure everything was closely monitored. It's the people that are buying products in their local gyms that are at risk. Some people are using what is the equivilient of bathtub gin thinking it will make them Superman.

Personally, I couldn't give two shits about Giambi since I hate the Yankees anyway, but I thought your comment was interesting. You don't feel completely cheated by a guy who was almost completely unable to perform last year? This is odd given the amazing power outage against the BRS at the end - surely the very thing Giambi was hired to prevent.

He may well have cost the NYY a WS. That's just fine by me, but you seem like a huge NYY fan.

dropd dead from steriods you guys are killing me maybe from a tumor that grew because of the steroids.....look at Aunold the good ole govenator and he probably took shit stuff compared to what is out there now............they just banned Androdiol which was legal and you could buy it anywhere on january 20th of this year but he will mash he'll have 10-15 HR's with about 60 RBI's LOL na I hope he does good but he should definitely have to redo his contract he won't be worth that money off the sauce just like sosa and giles and all the others on the stuff I think bonds is the only one that went from a pure hitter to a huge power hitter and only is HR's would be affected

Besides the tiny factor of death....

There's also personal health, during and after baseball. Some of the early results are in....

Sosa can't sneeze, or he's out a third of the season

McGuire joints and back are completely shot now, and he's still a relatively young man, that played a non-contact sport.

One or two, or a few dozen wrestlers dropped dead. But we won't bring any of that up.

Canseco, whom I watched play for the White Sox in his final days, is physically shot as well.

Canseco and Sosa (as well as countless others) have have some issues with anger management.

By being exposed to the juice second hand, Dusty Baker's balls have shriveled to nothing and he is spineless.

i agree. Before all this there were a million guys doing this stuff. I know guys personally in the minor leagues(years ago) who said it was a way of life iin the minors before testing. Before minor league players were tested, tons of small tiny guys were using the stuff. Dont' get me wrong i am all for cleaning up the sport, but this is nothing new. Lots of guys used it. SOme players who used juice were elite and many more were not. I dont' think the percentage is any different compared to non users. The problem is players who put up numbers are now being eyeballed.

Jesus, just because he was the one to admit to the grand jury that he did roids does not mean he wa sthe only one...He was among a list of SEVERAL HUNDRED star players who did roids and it was accepted when they were doing it, not legally, but amongst eachother in the way marijuana is today among most people...Give him a break, if he comes back and has a great year after this whole ordeal, no one can say SHIT
