im like a kid in a candy store with these bracket buster games. i'll be very, very disappointed if this isnt a solid day for me.
going big on these:
cleveland state vikings over
niagara purple eagles (+6)
kent state flashes (pk)
...and then tossing a few bucks on these:
wisconsin-milwaukee panthers (+1)
utep miners (+6.5)

i think theres a lot of value in the cleveland state total. central michigan played a string of unders while nelson was out of the lineup. now that he's back, the chips are scoring more but still giving up a lot of points too. cleveland state didnt even try to play defense in last year's bracket buster vs. eastern michigan, allowing emu to drop 87 pts on 'em. vikes love to get out and run when the opposition allows it, and cmu will certainly be acquiescent. even though its a step up in class from the horizon to the mac, the vikes likely will be looking forward to playing a team they should be able to score on consistently. cmu doesnt resemble any of the good defenses in the horizon that csu has faced this season.
on paper, akron and niagara will be an absolute track meet. but i dont like how this game is scheduled for akron. zips will be playing their 3rd game in 6 days and niagara certainly is not gonna be walking the ball up the floor. really think the outcome of this game is a coinflip and the six points is just too much to lay on the final leg of a 3-in-6. also dont like the fact that akron is shooting more 3s than FTs by a wide margin the last three games. (vs. kent...18 3s and 5 FTs attempted) (vs toledo....22 3s and 24 FTs attempted) (vs.ohio...20 3s and 4 FTs attempted)
akron has to get to the line more frequently against niagara because the eagles live at the stripe (shooting almost 28 FTs a game on the season)
if i had to pick only one game to play on saturday, it would be kent state. yes, ksu has been ridiculously up and down this year while southern illinois has been a model of consistency. but kent simply does not lose big games at home. thats been a staple of their program for years now. for kent to be in a pick'em spot on that floor is almost absurd. ive got a lot of respect for the missouri valley, but think kent is a little more battle-tested than siu. both programs have played in big games and neither is awed by the espn cameras. should be a good game, but simply cannot see kent state losing on this floor to southern illinois.
