In a game like this, and it gets close to game time, and the line goes from +4 to +5 up, go the opposite way (Duke) and you will almost always win. At least thats what I do.

Wake Forest already won at their house. Duke had the edge there with all the home cooking. These two teams will most likely play again. Save your best for another game that will really count.

I like Wake Forest next time.

timing is everything. lines are real tight. yesterday went 4-4-1 aqnd should have gone 5-2-2. just played the games at the wrong time. played utep at +6 and it went to 7. got the push instead of the w. played providence at pk and it went to +1, got the loss instead of the push. i only have three outs, which sounds like alot, but it cost me nonetheless.

sorry to get back in your thread but we are all supposed to learn from losses.

Why do you think you lost this one ?

If you can figure out the reason you made the play, and try not to do that mistake again. Otherwise your on the road to the poor house.

I know one thing about the Wake Forest / Duke game, and that is that I spotted a weakness in Duke. And even though Duke won the game, its a weakness that is going to knock them out of the tournament.

not telling you how to bet your money, but mentioning to all that if your buying a point and a half in basketball games, your better off putting all your money in the bank and never bet again the rest of your life in BASKETBALL. If i told you what percentages you would have to hit to actually win money based on giving 120-140% you would be actually suicidal, so i won't. Pick a better game. Obviously if you have to pick up another point to point an a half to win a bet, your on the wrong game. This is'nt my opinion this is a fact!! I don't know your age or experience, so i'm giving a helping hint to all. Please take it as a learning tool and not that i'm bashing you bro. ARROW

You still didn't answer the question.

Why did you make the play. What was the one thing that put you over the edge to make the play?

just throw one out there. It won't hurt much.

One last thing and I am not trying to bash you at all.

But if someone asked me what I did for a hobby.

And I told them I was a gambling fool, I think they
might not want to loan me any money anytime soon.

................................................................

OK thats a start.

Let me think about this some.
I didn't post a play before the game but I played Duke moneyline and won a hundred. Hey on a Sunday night I will take a hundred. yep....
It was the only game I played.

I will give you my reasons on Duke other than the line movement. And one thing you got to remember about line movement, oh geez here we go. There have been volumes written on line movement and its one of the most confusing confounded things that occur in human nature.
The public is moving the line, big whales just moved the line, a certain capper just moved the line. It gets crazy. But what you always have to remember about line movement is there are times when they have to move a line. And let me tell you its probably like very stressfull in there. We got to move the line we got 10 million now on the opposite side. We got to do it now. Yeh but we just got a call from Downtown Louis and he says not to move it yet. He says wait until he calls back. Calls back, get that rat bastid on the phone !
Well you get the idea.

These are the only times I fool around with line movement. The only trouble is this don't happen alot but if you can recognize games that it does, it will lead you to the cash. It is usually with the high profile games. Some people don't like to bet these games but I think that is where the money can be made. Are you still with me ?

One last thing about line movement is this.

If you disregard it and arn't aware of it, then you will lose. But don't get carried away with it.

The line moves for a reason but its a enormous vernture with millions of dollar at stake. Can you imagine being the guy that has to make the decision about when to move a line.

I don't think I want that job.

And we think we have pressure making plays ? wow.

Figuring out why it moves around is next to impossible. You can waste a few years trying to win by betting solely on line movement.

Back to Duke -

Reasons for me going Moneyline

Didnt trust Duke to cover but felt strong they would win at Cameron.

Duke needed it worse. To lose 3 in a row and then at home too. These Duke players were up for this.

So what about Wake Forest ?

Damn you would make a good straight man for me.

Kinda like Ed Sullivan used to feed them to Johnny Carson.

I am beginning to wonder about you gamblinfool.
There may still be hope, But you sound like a project.

I could entitle it " Make gamblinfool a winner "

yeh thats the ticket

I will challenge any posters with over 1,000 posts to take a new poster under their wing and teach them a few things.

After a few months we have a contest to see who is the best from the group of posters with under a 100 posts.

Maybe a ten game free for all in some sport.

I will take gamblinfool if he is up to it.

Just don't make it baseball or I am screwed.

Well any takers ?

Its about time we started to think of someone besides ourselves winning and maybe pass on some things that will help ppl win.

Thats why we say we come here.
