WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) -- Purdue's Carl Landry, the Big Ten's second-leading scorer, will miss the rest of the season after tearing a knee ligament during Saturday's game against Minnesota.
Landry will need surgery to repair a tear to the anterior cruciate ligament of his right knee, coach Gene Keady said Monday.
The 6-foot-7 Landry, in his first year at Purdue after transferring from junior college, has been the brightest spot for Purdue during a dismal farewell season for Keady that has the Boilermakers at 7-18 overall and 3-11 in the Big Ten. He is averaging 18.2 points a game and is sixth in the Big Ten at 7.1 rebounds a game.
