ok, so no one gives a fugg when old pricks like me start these threads, but hey, like i give a chit, right :nutkick

Hope u like these from the Edinburgh Comedy Festival...

The dodo died. Then Dodi died, Di died and Dando died... Dido must be shetting herself.

My parents are from Glasgow which means they're incredibly hard, but I was never smacked as a child ... well maybe one or two grams to get me to sleep at night.

Is it fair to say that there'd be less litter in Britain if blind people were given pointed sticks?

My mum and dad are Scottish but they moved down to Wolverhampton when I was two, 'cause they wanted me to sound like a twat.

I realised I was dyslexic when I went to a toga party dressed as a goat.

My dad's dying wish was to have his family around him. I can't help thinking he would have been better off with more oxygen.

You have to remember all the trivia that your girlfriend tells you, because eventually you get tested. She'll go: What's my favourite flower? And you murmur to yourself: Shet, I wasn't listening ... Self-raising?

The world is a dangerous place; only yesterday I went into Boots and punched someone in the face.

Cats have nine lives. Which makes them ideal for experimentation.

I saw that show, 50 Things To Do Before You Die. I would have thought the obvious one was Shout For Help.

I went out with an Irish Catholic. Very frustrating. You can take the Girl out of Cork ...

Got a phone call today to do a gig at a fire station. Went along. Turned out it was a bloody hoax.

Employee of the month is a good example of how somebody can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

The right to bear arms is slightly less ludicrous than the right to arm bears.

My dad is Irish and my mum is Iranian, which meant that we spent most of our family holidays in Customs.

Sleeping with prostitutes is like making your cat dance with you on its hind legs. You know it's wrong, but you try to convince yourself that they're enjoying it as well.

A dog goes into a hardware store and says: I'd like a job please. The hardware store owner says: We don't hire dogs, why don't you go join the circus? The dog replies: What would the circus want with a plumber?.

Hey - you want to feel really handsome? Go shopping at The Warehouse.

It's easy to distract fat people. It's a piece of cake.

I enjoy using the comedy technique of self-deprecation - but I'm not very good at it.

If you're being chased by a police dog, try not to go through a tunnel, then on to a little seesaw, then jump through a hoop of fire. They're trained for that.

I was walking the streets of Glasgow the other week and I saw this sign: This door is alarmed. I said to myself: How do you think I feel?

Thank u, thank u, I'll be here all week... :mj01:

Hey Anders:

Welcome back. I'm usually not a welcome back, happy birthday, or internet sympathy extension type of guy. However, I did miss your music knowledge and posts.

I'll never forget the post I made about falling in love with Shania Twain. Your issued a scathing response about how untalented the "warbler" was and proceeded to mericilessly expose her lack of talent.

You know, you were right and I've moved on from the Canadien slut who wouldn't make it through the first round of American Idol. Yes Anders, I have a new love, and mighty talented at that.

Her name: Jessica Simpson. Now aren't you proud. Okay, trivia time, who sang the lead on the song Sting Ray by the Routers.

thanks all, except mike, who can kiss my tanned kiwi a$$....
quick update, since i was last a regular - left my job as dep sports ed at the newspaper, became media manager for nz basketball team....spent a season doing that, very full on, long long hrs, but enjoyable...got screwed at season end as CEO wanted to cut costs and wanted me to do more work and hrs...what, a 95-hr wk boss? - for same pay, so i told him I'd rather lick the sweat of a dead man's balls...
landed a job back at the paper the next day as a sub-editor...started in April 04, later that month I ruptured a disc in my back playing soccer...
Got screwed by the docs trying to get a correct diagnosis, suggested cures didn't work until I had in op in Sept...6 months later I'm on my way to recovery but the nerve damage prior to the op and the scar tissue after means it'll still be another 6 months until I think I'll be back to normal, without any nerve pain down my leg...v frustrating time...
Still capping as always, have concentrated a lot on tennis of late with some success, and still do the Down Under stuff and the English soccer...
My son is now 9 1/2, daughter turns 7 this month, how the hell did that happen?

fletch - here's the link for the rag I work at...
