First let me say that I am a lil biased. I am a Pitt alum and also follow this team immensly.
Having said that, Pitt's major downfall this season has been man defense, especially against the 3 point shot. Villanova can certainly shoot the 3 as we have all seen. However, this is in the garden and not at home to biased referres and a huge home court advantage.
Pitt is playing their best ball right now and at the perfect time. They have proven they can certainly win on the road in a hostile enviornment time and time again. They have been in this situation at msg many times and are quite familialr with the pressure, nova is a very talented team but not experinced with this pressure. Also, the Big East tourney does not usually call tic-tac fouls which favors tougher more physical teams.
The best thing Pitt is doing right now is having the stars shine and the bench coming up huge. Look for taft to continue to roll as he is slowly becoming a more likely lottery pick and chevy to be chevy, dominant and consistent while shooting a high percentage. Krauser and Ramon both should step it up , with graves hitting some much needed three's. DeGroat, Gray, and Kendall should get some big offensive rebounds and total 20-30 points between them. Can't wait for the game!!!!!
My prediction is Pitt by 6, like I said maybe a little biased......
