sun,i think wash can win just as easy in half court but the cards will not be able to resist a up tempo game.cards athletes like to run as much as wash.wash not the bigest team in the world but that doesnt meen they cant post.roy, simmons and even williams are tough inside.but realy think wash starts running and pittino is going to have his hands full begging his guys to slow it down.even more than therequickness i love wash s heart.

thats pretty impressive nickel.

Yeah, what it shows me more than anything is just how reliant Washington is on shooting the ball well. . . on the road, this advantage is basically negated as the home team should be able to shoot the ball reasonably well on their home floor. We already know Washington can't rely on their defense to win games and their road record shows it. . . but 8-0 on neutral court tells me they can shoot better than basically every team they meet. Louisville will need to play great defense to take them down

Sun, UW definitely has less inside presence. . . no doubt about that one. . . clearly their big weakness and it must be attacked in order to beat the Huskies

I started reading this thread believing Lousville would spank UW

I close this thread now thinking the opposite...

Sun and Nickel bring up good points

My question???

Why does Vegas make a 4 seed a favorite (1 1/2 points I think) over the 1 seed?? HHHMMMM????

Give Louisville credit but I really was surprised at Georgia Tech. They really looked like a tired team to me. They just didnt seem to get to spots and a couple of times the ball was on the ground and GT just stood around.

Now on the the Huskies.......Have you guys noticed how well Washington crashes the board while still keeping decent defensive balance so not to get beat on the break the other way?

Against Arizona and Pacific I thought their rebounding was impressive. They kind of remind me of the Crum's old Louisville teams where they didnt have a true center but they had "quick" leapers who can get to the ball. Kind of like having a "quick" 6'8" guy getting to the ball before the 6'10" or 7'0" guy.

I think if Romar makes it a priority to really defend the 3 then Wash has a good chance to advance......

Also anyone notice how easy Nate gets to the rim when he penetrates.........he has some hops with strength.....great combo.......

good question hookie but going into selection sunday we might have thought both these teams would be 2 seeds.these were 2 surprises.the cards were shocked when they got there 4 seed.they took it as disrespect after winning the con usa torn.and plus they way the closed the reg season.two teams not that different

I want to see how the public reacts to the line as well before I consider making a play on this one. But my guess is that we all know Washington was handed a "gift" getting the #1 seed and the public knows this and has heard all about it. . .

Also, Louisville is ahead of Washington in most rating systems (at least I am pretty sure of this. . . Sagarin for one)

Houston, Texas
RPI Washington 3, UL 12.

I think line will stay about where it is. Sure the public has heard the talk, but bottom line Joe Blow is betting a 1 seed. Generally this line would indicate to me UL is the play but not so sure here.

This line is about right..........I have been following possible matchups for Wash and saw a few power rankings that had these teams fairly even...........for the last month.

I wouldn't go that far yet Sun. . . Washington isn't a public team even as a #1 seed. They aren't getting any respect from anyone besides the selection committee! You may be right. . . the public may bet Washington but lets wait for a day or two and see the numbers. . . I have a feeling they will be fairly even despite the fact that most #1 seeds would have Joe Public all over them

nickel, ur right about UW on off. boards, I have said that all year ... dont mean to touch a nerve, but if you go back to last 5 mins of both halves of pac-10 finale I doubt uc a single zona def. rb--UW is just that much of a tasmaniam devil fetching misses--Its amazed me all year; IMO thats their biggest offsetting advantage for their lack of height ... I just wish I watched LOUIS play more this year to have a lil beter feel for matchups etc .... Bird did say last summer UW would win it all, thats a bold call from The Hick ... I will keep everyone abreast of anything from seattle this week--feel free to email me with any questions too ...
