So why are we worried about Social Security?

Don't get me wrong - I think we should be VERY worried about SocSec.

But why is it singled out? WE ARE RUNNING RECORD AND EVER_GROWING DEFICITS - HELLO!

So why is it okay to be in the hole on everything else but heaven forbid we be in the hole on this particular budget item.

Anyway, why aren't we worried about Medicare / Medicaid or whichever it is that is scheduled to run out of money long before socsec?

Why is it we are willing to borrow money we can't pay back to give to Iraq today but aren't willing to borrow money 30-40 years from now to pay socsec?

Something just doesn't add up here.

On the course!
I think it is because that money was earmarked for us in our retirement. I hear what you are saying, but people are a little more attached to that money, than the rest of the money that the government pisses away.

Meanwhile the dollar continues to plummet as the government hands it out like candy and runs the printing presses with absolutely no accountability.

But that same dollar will be there. Just as DJV.

Been that way every time you run big deficits. But S S one way or the other will be there. They better worry about the real urgent program Medicare. If they want to worry about something in trouble.
