Hey bud,
Remember that noise you used to hear on your computer? and everybody laughed at you for it?

Mind telling me how to get rid of it?

PF,

Dr. Freezeisms pretty much have a permanent lease on my signature space, but i'd still be interested in hearing what your problem was.

Sincerely,

Kosar

Yes, but it appears that Marine, a fellow madjacker, needs your help. So let's go step by step on what your problem was and the steps you took to solve it.

Thank you.

OK, I guess I'll give everyone a good laugh today.

You may not be having the same problem as I am since asking you about the weather didn't help. If you recently installed desktop weather from the weather Chanel then that is the problem. It runs in the background constantly and if there is any kind of weather warning in you area that sound you hear is one of lightning crashing far off. They use that sound as their severe weather alert and it won't stop until you bring up the desktop weather and read the alert. About drove me nuts for two days.

You didn't disappoint, PF. I'm not trying to be smart, but why do you need weather alerts? Also, if it's that important, then why did you ignore the alert for two days? Just look out the window, bro. And if you are curious about the temperature, just poke your head out of the door.

Hang in there, man.

I don't need weather alerts, just wanted the tempertaure forecast available all the time because I go to work around 3:00-4:00 in the morining and need to know what to expect for the day as far as cold/rain/etc...

You knew it was coming and you went ahead and told us anyway.

It takes a man with a lot of testicular fortitude to do that. You have my admiration.

Hold on..............................

what the Hell was that? It's not raining!

PF- I have that on my comp as well, except instead of lightning it makes some chirping sound like crickets or birds. I'd never noticed it until one day I was watching basketball with my roommate in the living room, and suddenly my roomate says to me, "Do you have a f*cking bird in your room????" Just this loud-ass chirping sound from my computer speakers in my room.

I kept going through all of the options to try to turn the sound off for alerts, and finally something happened that worked to get it off, but it took me a while of having to deal with that crap every 15 minutes. Even now, sometimes I'll forget to turn my speakers off when I go to bed, and I'll suddenly get jolted by the dreaded weather alert birds/crickets.
