Looking for some feedback on cell phone services. I currently have Nextel - enjoy the direct connect feature. However I am not satisfied with the reception I get...seems like I get disconnected every other call and half the time my signal goes in and out.

What service do you all recommend (I would like to keep that direct connect feature; don't know what other companies have that). Don't need to have picture phones or anything - just a service where I can hear the person on the other end and they can hear me.

Thanks in advance

It usually depends on the area in which you live. I have a hard time time with most services.

My company gave me a NEXTEL phone and I had dropped calls seeminly every time. I complained and they sent a technician to my house. Turns out I didn't have service where I live. At first they refused to let me out of the contract, but after we proved we had no service and we would sue for advertising that stated I had service in my area, they let it go.....but it was a hassle!!

I switched to AT&T and they are the same. My neighbors have Verizon and have no trouble with service.

I would not sign up for any service that couldn't prove service or let me out of the contract if service proved to be unsatisfactory....

Cingular wireless here in Georgia.

Great reception and service.

Love the roll over feature most. Never pay for long distance calls with that. I think right now I have 8,000 rollover minutes.

Camera phones are not that expensive.

obviously cant speak for the reception for tmobile in chicago. but i can say unequivocally that tmobile has some of the best customer service ive ever come across. very professional, very courteous, and they always leave me impressed every time i call, no matter how big or little the problem is. had sprint in the past and felt they were motherfu.ckers. so switched to tmobile and have been very happy.

I live near the northern NJ area and have a nextel and can't really complain. Friends often tell me that they have trouble reaching me, but once my call is connected i have no problems. My advice is to avoid T-Mobile based on past experience... they're reception isn't great, but they have good customer service. Everyone around here w/ a verizon cell seem to love it... that'd prob be you're best bet if u were in this area
