No answers to where severed foot found in Malibu came from

MALIBU, Calif. - Authorities on Tuesday were trying to determine whether foul play or an accident was responsible for a severed human foot found by a crew repairing a section of highway.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department launched an investigation after Monday's discovery by a road crew, but released no details Tuesday.
The foot, which appeared to belong to a man, was found in Topanga Canyon about 4 1/2 miles from Pacific Coast Highway. The foot had been severed from the leg just above the ankle and was found in a pile of landfill dirt, officials said.
The foot may have been taken from a landfill used by various businesses, including 20th Century Fox, which is building a new office complex on its Century City lot.
As a precaution, investigators closed the studio's construction site and searched the area, said Florence Grace, a 20th Century Fox spokeswoman.
"There was no evidence that this foot was found in our construction site," said Grace, who added construction had resumed Tuesday.
