Weber I knew was gonna win it, but how in gods name does Coach K get second place???? Romar should of gotten more votes than Coach K. Unreal how that turned out.

Not everybody can take 6 McDonald's All-Americans (and one who would have been but for a slight rape problem) and take his team to a third place finish in the conference. It was another great effort. You must be a hater not to see it.
Gillespie deserves consideration. The non-conference record is deceiving as the schedule was so weak, but a very nice turnaround for Gomer.

1. I hate Duke with a passion because I'm such a big Arizona fan. So I am definitely biased.
2. If Duke had all americans on their team this year, I must be missing something because the team this year looked very average overall. Reddick was a clear standout but honestly, not that great of a shooter compared to others. I think Coach K did a great job with this team because they either aren't very talented or they don't play well together. I really wasn't impressed at all this year with this team and I'd be surprised if Duke fans didn't agree with me on this point.

while this may be his best coaching job in a while (much like i think this was lute's best job in a while) there is no way in hell he is runner up coach of the year.....they finished THIRD in the acc and finished up with about 6 losses in their last 15-17 games.

Duke was not as talented as years past. I hate Duke and UNC, being a UVA man, but Coach K did a really good job with this years team IMO. I thought they might be 9-7 in ACC at the start of the season
hmmm 6 HS AAs isnt talented? Can he not evaluate the talent he is recruiting, or get better talent, or not do much with it? Gotta be one or the other. Either way it isnt " a really good job".
I hate Coach K , dont get me wrong. I cannt stand anything to do with Duke or UNC. but past Reddick IMO the team was very short from "great". Sheldon Williams was good(i guess). I mean Reggie Love ended up being a big role player for them down the strech. Just think there have been MORE talented Duke teams that he did less with in the past.
Anyone notice Pitino during the game, his mannerisms, how he acts? I watched on TV and I never once saw him yell at the ref, he was always in control (minus when he stomps his feet!). And then his post game comments were about as classy as I have ever heard out of a coach after a game....admitting that they lost to a better team and Illinois deserved to win without a doubt. I
Now compare that to Splinter who yells at the refs about every 2 times down the court, with F-bombs damn near every time (he gives them one freebie every once in a while where he won't say anything at all, usually when they are winning...see front-running). Has he ever said they lost to a better team and that a team just plain beat them?

Tubby sure did a good job at UK this year with 1 senior and 2 freshmen starters. People around here will still be calling for him to be fired, however.
