So. Cal
was this an october walk thru for pitino and louisville?

missed layups
weak interior play
poor defense
unwillingness to come out of their worthless zone
garcia a total no show, giving the ball up immediately after touching it almost everytime

i'm not sure what the point was in making the trip to st louis....id have rather seen wvu, at least they play with some heart and desire.

maybe i'm still bitter from last week...but at no point in this game was i entertained, or did i feel any drama.....to me it was a rather boring game with little intrigue and almost no emotion.....especially from louisville.

agreed. they played like crap. garcia was trying to do too much early, and not enough later. flat-out pitiful effort.

Among Libtards!!
pitino should be ashamed of himself.....how many times are you going to let Illinois beat you on a middle school play? Illinois ran a guy along the baseline and screened the back side of the zone for wide open 3 after wide open 3!! :cursin: That's a phucking middle school play.....and he can't adjust to that? what a joke of a job on his part!! Congrats Illini backers, you were on the better prepared...better coached....and more determined team here for sure!!

arrow, i respect your opinion, but... "great defense"? louisville missed many layups and open looks that they normally do not miss. they played very poorly offensively.

ill is so weak on the interior it's sickening, they play great team ball on offense but shoot an amazingly high number of threes....at some point that has to catch up to them......ill got a cakewalk of a draw in their first three games without having to see an interior presence....when they did they got eaten alive by frye-radinovich-adams (about a combined 25-31 from the field)....the only team left that presents that problem is unc.....

my comments on the lvill-ill game were from a fan-watching standpoint....a rather lifeless, boring game with very little excitement.....loved seeing pitino say that they had to stay in the zone because of lack of depth....oh yeah...down 9 with 4 mins left your still in the zone jackoff....why not just send a note saying "we're thrilled to make the final four but we don't have the depth to play 40 mins so we wont show up"

i agree but illinois just outclassed them. i will admit i hate unc wit a passion, but i dont see anybody beating illinois, that ohio st was the biggest fix in the last 20 years of sports.

Pitino got outcoached in the 2nd half. Illinois made the adjustments to the zone and it was over. By seeing Pitino come out in a 2-3 zone, he was basically admitting his team could not guard Illinois man to man.

Christ, a 2-3 zone against a team that shoots the lights out from 3? Isn't that backwards? I thought 2-3's were for teams that were good inside and couldn't shoot?

Garcia was like a Ninja tonight....Tip went up and POOF! He was gone...vanished into thin air for the next 40 minutes! :mj07:
