I really wonder what I would do if I was someone like Raymond Felton, etc.
I know that all that money is very tempting. But, its going to still be there in a year.
Maybe the risk of injury is just too great not to go pro early. Thats the only reason I would do it.
What would be better than being "big man on campus" for one more year, playing on a great team, and knowing you'll be filthy rich in the near future.

Do they have insurance policies for something like this? Maybe something where the school pays a lot of money for the policy, and if injury occurs, the player gets paid and then he pays the school back + more.
If the player stays in school and does not get injured, then he pays the school back + more when he gets to the NBA.

I know there is the temptations of having the money now, the injury risks, the extra year of NBA earnings....but for me, I'd love to be playing for UNC. Take an easy schedule of classes, play ball, and screw as many co-eds as possible. Does that really ever get old???

I think just for some kids though, they want to get out because of so many rules they have to follow. if it were me, hell yea i would want to stay all 4 years and get the most out of it. Even if a Felton type did get injured, you know he is going to get drafted anyways, but it all boils down to money. Now a days, you can play 1 good game in the NCAA and the NBA could possibly draft you. its preety sickening how much money they are willing to pay.

yes, there are insurance policies. I remember when Tim Couch's father took out a policy on him for a few million dollars with LLoyd's of London. Is there a question that Felton is thinking of going pro? If so, he'll be pumping gas with Scottie Thurmond in a few years.

(id rather be a playa in nyc,la etc..than say chapel hill, syracuse)

I see what your saying. The main thing I'm saying is why not do both? NY and LA are still going to be there. Enjoy Chapel Hill and Syracuse, etc. for as long as you can...then go enjoy the NBA.
Honestly, for the most part its a win/win situation. Kind of like, do you want this hot blond or this hot brunette? Personally I'd stay with the hot brunette for all 4 years...then move on to the hot blond.
