Over came a solid Illini team and their own coach - that sitting of May AFTER a timeout really almost came back to haunt. Be sure and send Weber a thank you card....some strange strategy down the stretch. Did they even try a 2 point shot the last 5 minutes wiht a tied or 2 point game?

May was the man (although apparently forgotten down the stretch), and the best talent prevailed.

Added bonus is they are cringing in Durham.

Not quite sure why Illinois chose to totally ignore driving to the hoop to try and get Felton out of the game.....but that is why I am not coaching and why I am gambling, I suppose

I was curious what'd you say--and I was sitting here thinking exact same thng: 3 min time out and they sit May??????? And when did Marvin (who I love to death as kid and potentially) become the go to guy for treys, etc. down the stretch when he had stunk for 6 straight halves ... It's ironic, I used to be huge tar heel fan and found myself rooting for ILLINI ... If Head or Brown shows up at end ILL cuts down the nets ... Too bad Deron W. missed the trey off the double woulda put them up 73-70 and then woulda prob been over IMHO ... Illini ran same play twice in 60 secs and NC was clueless to it ... I thought NC did everythig to win game in FH, and other than May, very little in 2nd half, esp. on bench :shrug:

Loved ILL heart, I didnt think theyd make game of it at half... feel for Weber

May amazing and they dont even ride Secretariat to the final pole, baffling ..

May was sucking wind on the bench...they had to sit him....he was really to fall over for all the work he'd done on the inside....if the kid is smart he will concentrate on teh conditioning....if he does...wow!
