Zuniga-Zertuche

Zuniga-Zertuche

A few quick reasons for my small play on the over...

* Zuniga only stops guys who shouldn't be in the ring in the first place. Since stepping up to decent comp he has made it the final round in all 3 fights.

* I watched Zuniga's first real fight with Daniel Santos, Zun showed an excellent chin, awkward style, and tremendous heart in that fight. And I didn't see the power that his previous record suggested.

* In Zuniga's last fight, it took him all 12 rounds to stop David Lopez, a guy who's been stopped 9 times in his career, 6 of them were in the first 3 rounds!

* Prior to his last fight Zun went the distance with scrub George Walton.

* In 2003 Zertuche went the distance with Carl Cockerman who had been stopped 4 times prior to their meeting.

* In 2002 Zertuche went the distance with and lost to Calvin Odom who was stopped once prior to their fight and 3 times afterwards.

Now Now Gee-Dub

The score is only 3-3 so the aluminum bats aren't the issue here.

ESPN putting college baseball on national television...that is the issue.

anybody see anchondo/barrios?....

anchondo looked soft,sluggish...almost drugged...

he didn`t sweat....he was never in the fight...

i put some coin on him ,then offed it when the weigh-in info posted....

something was very wrong with anchondo...i can`t believe mcgirt didn`t realize anchondo was awol.....

one of the strangest things i`ve seen in awhile in a big fight.....

and the ref did everything in his power to help anchondo....

that was actually scary...anchondo could have been seriously hurt in there...

i hope they do a legit blood work-up on him....hard to believe he just decided not to train for the biggest fight of his life....

that wasn`t the same guy that dominated a still very tough goyo vargas....

very strange...

yeah, Anchondo must have been scared for this fight. heard he was partying a lot, so if you are not in shape, and not sure of yourself facing a tough opponent. it's easy to come up with a tank job.

I laid some money on Zuniga, but pushed.
should have put some on Barrios.

oh well, my big play is tomorrow. hopefully barrera is in the ass kickin mood. maybe i'll wear a morales mask to the fight and call him a bitch with no power, then Marco will get mad. and i'll throw water on his daddy like a toddler.

I hold McGirth responsible for the most part. Is anyone going to say he REALLY did'nt know Mikey was whacked out. He was dried out and had no timing. Shame on us for not hammering the crap out of the line. Than again, maybe some of you guys did. I played it, but I did'nt unload. Goes to show you, even the Buddy Mc Girths of the world screw up.

i may be the only guy that thinks that all the mcgirt hype is a bit over blown....

gatti is his big success...and if you look closely,it`s more the matchmaking that`s made gatti a recent winner...not his style....

he has yet to fight a legit jr welter thas that can punch...the only real jr welter he`s fought was branco...

i don`t think anybody believes that courageous mickey ward was a legit world class title threat when he fought him....hardly....not disparaging ward as a brave guy...just as a world class opponent..

and mcgirt squeezed 3 bouts out that one...

not saying mcgirt isn`t a smart matchmaker...he is....

and in truth, that`s part of being a good manager...

this anchondo debacle shows that somebody was seriously asleep at the wheel...

i read that anchondo lost 10 lbs in the 4 days leading up to the fight....

that`s crazy...it`s crazy for a trainer not to be on top of his guy`s weight making process...

if he wasn`t aware of anchondo`s problems,he should have known....and if he knew,he should have feigned injury and gotten out of the fight.....

maybe the money was to important to him....of course, they gave away 30g`s from the jump...

a debacle...
