"the bunker"
one of the best fights i`ve ever seen in any combat sport.....just amazing....

i was glad that they didn`t make those guys go another round....it would have been overkill and it would have been a tragedy had either guy gotten seriously hurt....

the wheels at ultimate showed great class by giving bonnar a contract....

it was a great showcase for the sport....even though the other two bouts were brief and pretty one-sided...

i wonder if bobby southworth is cashing in a big fat 4 or 5-1 ticket saying "sam hoger to win".....lol

wouldn`t shock me a bit.....

if anybody saw that particular fight, please give us a rundown....

thanks...

Rafferty over Karelexis @ +200 is my only decent sized play on the card. Its off the board at most shops now because of the large amount of money wagered by myself and other 'groups' on the fight. I think you will hear more reasons behind it, after the fight.

Karalexis has a bad Rib. Possibly broken, but good enough to pass physicals.

Was going to pull out of the fight. Everyone involved with the fight game bet Rafferty yesterday. At +200 he was the right play given the circumstances.

Great call on Swick. Not too much to sweat there.

Odessa, yeah, I was down for 1unit at +200, but I was shutout. MVP and Pinnacle pulled it before I got there. I heard the whispers about the injury, and obviously Rafferty looked like he trained his ass off. anyway, i was just laying off it, but at the last second when I saw your post I went looking for a line but couldnt find one.

We have all been in the position where we love a number, know its the right play, it loses and we curse our luck. All of us. Thats why I could relate.

Trollin, my pleasure.

Weasel, it sounds like it was a fight without much action. Bobby was passive, per usual and Hogar was the aggressor. From whats been written, it didnt sound like a good fight at all

The Griffin-Bonnar fight was just flat out insanity. Great TV Great MMA.

Weasel, here is full contact fighter's description of the Southworth fight:

"Light-heavyweights Bobby Southworth and Sam Hoger rode their allotted fifteen minutes to a decision that went in favor of the accused house thief and Miletich Martial Arts fighter. Sticking it out in each other's faces, looking for that one punch to end it all, the first round was a close one spare a fleeting sequence where the Miletich fighter solidified his Octagon control by pushing and holding Southworth against the fence. In round two, Hoger increased his lead as Southworth's more conservative striking and backpedaling style began to limit his punches. A smirking Hoger only developed his aggressor's role by hounding Southworth. Although Southworth scored with some effective thigh kicks, Hoger's combo attempts pushed the fight forward and swayed two of three judges. By round three, Southworth must have sensed he was down at least a round, because he came out trying to unload his arsenal. Hoger invited the advance, pulling guard to isolate a shoulder before transitioning to a triangle choke attempt. Southworth realized he wasn't getting anywhere and backed out. Southworth continued to land his kicks, but it backfired as Hoger caught one leg to keel the AKA fighter over. Both depleted, Hoger rode the decision for the remaining few minutes, passing to half guard and peppering with head shots. Rising to his feet even before the clock had run its course, his hands raised above his head, Hoger knew he had pulled the unanimous decision out."

after all the threats and all the talk he wet the bed....

if i recall,it only took forrest griffin one round of dicking around before he realized he had to just walk hoger down.....

obviously, griffin was the cheese in this tournament....the guy`s a load....mentally as well as physically...southworth wasn`t quite on that level...

Wiuff failed a physical, the eye exam to be exact. He took it again and passed, NSAC has given him the go ahead to fight. Line is coming back up with Sobral now a favorite -140 at MVP. I took Travis +110 at MVP for 1 unit.

i took sobral at -115....small

c`mon skill,say it ain`t so.... :banghead:

i realize that wiuff is dropping alot of weight to make 205...but,i looked at sobral`s reume...his losses were to liddell...randleman...fedor(lord,how much did fedor outweight him by?...fedor is the best mma fighter drawing breath,imo)...dan henderson and valentijn overeem(overeem has hit the skids but he`s much bigger than sobral)... ...

he`s beaten jeremy horn, prangley, mauricio rua, sinosic and maurice smith....

just saying why i took the shot...but,i bow to your expertise...

btw....check out the pride g.p.odds at 5 dimes...

some awfully tight bouts...tough card to cap....so many fights could swing either way....
