getting close to enough data to start playing games. Ready to win some duckets. My system will be the same as college basketball, my sytem will give me betting odds that games should be. If vegas starts the game more than 1 digit away (example line should be 7-5 but is 8 1/2 to 5 then its a bet) it will be a bet for the other team. Hope all are doing well and holding their own. Will also apply qfactor for pitchers not teams. See ya in about 2 weeks should have enough data by then.

I look forward to your takes, BB! I'm especially curious how the line differential effects MLB lines. Given the relationship between starter, team, and bullpen, what guided your decision to go with just starting pitching qfactors?

pitching is much more effected by a tired arm or poor mercanics, where as 7 players could be in a slump because of being tired or having bad flaws in their swing but it is all negated if the 8th player who isnt tied belts out 2 hrs or drives in 4 runs. Remember qfactor doesnt select teams it stops me from playing them if they where to be a pick. Remember even if a team is supposter win but they have a qfactor problem they are a no play.

Yes, I remember how you use the qfactor, I guess my main question is whther you will be trying to factor in a bullpen qfactor as well.

This would be invaluable, if a way were found to incoporate that, as well...games are won and lost on the weakness of MLB bullpens every day, and a sharp eye could find a hole there to exploit.

Either way, I await with bated breath your first offerings of the season.(If you'd seen my own plays so far, you'd know why! LOL)

Do you think using q factor for lets say the set up man and closer would be enough to get a read on relief pitching. Trying not to add too much number crunching.

Not a knock by far hoops might be played by numbers but trust me baseball is played on the field, no pc can spit out numbers on baseball to many things can go wrong, once again not a knock and good luck but baseball is about match ups , who is hot and who does it on the field that day anything can happen , unlike fb and hoops where a good numbers read can help, baseball you have to know the game.

Good Luck in you venture.

I agree he did great in hoops and said was far from a bash , hey he caught my eye and not easy to do the man has a very good numbers mind and I gave him many props hope he did not take this wrong way, i think he has a money maker in hoops from what i saw, different then what i look at but hey I am not a pc guy like he is so my hat has been off to him from hoops , just think baseball can't be done like hoops or fb to much can go wrong. say cubs hell when do you see a un 6.5 I don't care how cold or what wind there was wind makes a ball do funning things might not go out of the yard on high ball hit but line drive will bite through any wind , also wind from left to right or right to left can move a fly ball 20 feet side ways if over 15 mph and up seams move the ball and wind catches seams. So that was some of my statement and pens forget it when someone can show me a fail safe system I will pay them for it.

It should be fun. I personally wont bet for first 2 weeks to see how data is working. I think it is challenging to come up with pure data ( does anyone think Vegas uses wind gusts to make their lines. ITS BASED ON RAW DATA. Hopefully my numbers come in the same as Vegas except a few games a day those are the games ill attempt to play. Of course going with the Vegas side and against popular opinion  . I am looking forward to the challenge. And by the way the data link I stumbled on for college basketball also has thousands of numbers for baseball. Am trying to get a correlation to betting odds. Give me time ill figure it out. THEN WATCH OUT :mj14:
