Well, it turns out someone vandalized my car over the weekend :cursin: :cursin: . Second time this has happened where they tried to get into the drivers side. This time they about ripped off the handle of my eclipse spyder, probably to get to the stereo system, messed up the inside quarterpanels too. They never got in to the car. It has an alarm system but I really need to get one of those security systems, which I'll be doing this weekend because I don't live in the best neighborhood.

My wife took it to the shop today and they fixed about half of it (which was expensive), but I paid for the whole thing to be fixed, so I'll have to take it back again. Too bad I should have been there to set them straight :cursin:

So here's my question for the forum, once I get the security system put in I definitely will get my rifle out and load it up with rock salt so if anybody even thinks about vandalizing it again :firing: :firing: Can I get in any trouble for this if I catch someone in the act and cap their ass....

kneifl,
Rocksalt in your rifle? Never heard of that one, I've seen a few boys load rocksalt in their shotguns though around here. Anyway, here in northwestern Ohio, if I cap someone for simply breaking into my car I open myself up for some serious legal problems. For one there's a good chance they're kids, and to take action like that (even if they're breaking into your house) you must be ready to prove that you thought your life was in danger. Now firing a shot in their direction to scare the hell outa them is a different matter...I doubt they'd report that..or be back. But again even getting CAUGHT doing that opens you up for legal problems.

Can we get a video of you hiding up in the window, shades drawn, all decked out in camo with your "I'm with Stupid" t-shirt on (of course), face painted, with your rifle packin rock salt, ready to put a cap in some intruder's ass for trying to steal your Sanyo CD player from your bitch car?

a little background music of 'Dueling Banjo's' would just make the scene complete

Thanks in advance

Signed,
Good Buddy

I caught a couple would be thieves trying to break into my car and it was quite hilarious. It was about three in the morning when I heard the dog barking so I got up and looked out the window and saw a car parked behind mine and some punk walking up to my car. I ran to my bedroom to get the berretta, but something must have spooked them because they left. I had a feeling they might come back so I set up across the street on the neighbors front porch in total darkness. About ten minutes later they came back and the driver probably shit his pants when I snuck up on him and stuck a loaded .40cal to his head through the open window. All I said to him was "caught you mother f%*ker". His buddy jumped back in the car and they bailed in a hurry. I got the license plate and called the police out. When the police got there I told what I did and he laughed his ass off. They never came back.

move to florida where they passed that law shoot first ask questions last.

In true fact a bit of my past i used to have a retail business i closed in 1992 that used to get burglarized quit a bit. Alarm didn't slow them down, their was several times i used to beat the cops their always at 330am in the morning on the weekeneds, couple times almost got the police dogs released on me.

well anyways this happened about 12 times, i finally caught 3 of the bastids and prosecuted them. But the cops i was dealing w/told me if I shot the guy outside the building, drag his ass back into the building, we don't care about the pool of blood, and everything will be taken care of. more or less they were suggesting i shot the bastids if i caught them first, which i would have anyways even if they running away from me. :scared

BTW, the Florida law only applies to your home residence. Of course be very careful 'cause the lawyers and ACLU will scrutinze the details to death looking for a lawsuit. Soooooo, best to use a garden hose to clean up any mess outside ;)

I won't recommend shooting anyone, even with Rock salt. From a person with experience in that field, something similar happened to me.

My folks live in a decent area but their backyard falls back onto ravin and grassy area. Well, kids always would come, jump the fence and take my basketballs, hockey sticks or basically anything they could fine. I would usually lay out my smelly hockey equipment (summer) in the backyard to air out instead of polluting the house. One day, someone came in and took it all. I had enough. I had a pellet gun so I did the obvious and waited. We had a light sensor in the front but I had my parents install one in the back. Sure enough they came a few days later. Lights went on and I ran front the coach and just opened fire. well, i hit someone in the cheek. Not good. I got in big shit. Cops came and everything. Had to do 30 hrs community service (I was 18) and lost my toy. Family was upset, had to hire a lawyer and the whole thing. basically I opened fire on them but they didnt get to my property yet. Lawyer said I cant even shoot them on my property.

Moral of the story, don't shoot at anyone, even with rock salt.

But heck... they never came back cause they knew the physco lived there. :)
