Houston Astros 'ML' -129

Andy Pettitte is 1-1 on the year with a decent 3.55 ERA. Andy is 2-0 lifetime versus the Pirates and has allowed only 1 ER in 11 innings pitched. He has struck out 11 Pirates in those starts and should be ready to go. In his only lifetime start at PNC Park, Andy tossed six innings of shutout ball. The Pirates are batting only .156 versus lefties at home and when Pettitte goes out, Houston's bullpen is good enough to hold a lead.

Kip Wells is off to a horrid start this year. He is 1-2 with a 5.30 ERA and has had control problems (walked 18 batters this year).

Also just have to play it since I liked it yesterday and Pitt screwed me by winning.

Chicago Cubs 'ML -162

Home Plate Umpire Tim Welke is on LIST OF HOME UMPIRES. Since 2002, HOME TEAMS are 53-21 with Welke behind the plate is more than any other umpire by a longshot. Home teams are 4-0 when favored with Welke this season.

I have reason to believe that Cinn has a shot. Welke is 4-1 home favs this year and my stuff shows him going for the dog tonight. He started last year 1-5 favs and 3-3 home teams. Watch yourself on using what these umps have done over all in the past because they seldom do the same thing two years in a row. For instance, if he goes 20-12 home favs, the 12 dogs will kill you. He is subject to go 5 dogs anytime and still show home favs at the end of the year. Good luck and hope you hit tonight.

Agree completely with Houston. They are my big play tonight. Although the Houston bats are not what they used to be, I can't see Wells shutting them down again, plus Petitte has pitched well against the bucs....I like the play...GL
