good evening fellow cappers, viewers and guests.welcome to thursdays playoff action.nice win last night nailed the spurs -8,that was a bettors delight up by 30 at the half.no sweating or chain smoking for that one.3 games slated for tonight.for the record ,thru 16 games the favorites are 11-5 ats . looking at the rockets- mavericks game.rockets lead the series 2-0 taking both games on the mavs home court.game 1 98-86 pretty much a easy victory and game 2 a nail biter 113-111 mcgrady game winning 3 with a few seconds too go.the series shifts to the toyota center in houston texas for game 3 and 4.i am leaning towards the mavericks in this spot tonight.dallas will have to adjust there defense tonight if they want to get in the win column.they need to find a way to slow down mcgrady game one ,34 points and game two, 28 points.also as a team the rockets shot 47% in game 1 and 55% in game 2.offensively the mavericks need for someone to come up big.nowitzki 21 points game 1 shot 5-19 and game two 26 points 8-21 he needs to get the % up.i really think the key for the mavs to get a win is michael finley.this guy has been invisible this series game one 32 minutes 5 points ,game two 39 minutes 10 points he averages 17ppg during the regular season.he really needs to hit some big threes and come up with 25.avery johnson, only about 20 games on the bench since don nelson stepped down has to realize the playoffs are a different ballgame opposed to the regular season.
i look for dallas to come out with a high intensity game.look for terry and stack to take it to the basket more tonight and look for the kick out pass to finley, lots of early pressure by the mavs.i also put alot of stock in the line tonight.rockets take care of business on the road and are winners of 9 in a row and they are only a 1.5 point favorite on there home court, looks real easy to jump on the rockets.whats up with that? either the dude who made this line was drinking shots of jack daniels or this is one of those good ole fashion trap games.

PLAYOFF RECORD 4-1 +$4500.00

THE PICK DALLAS MAVERICKS +1.5 $1500.00

First, history tell you Houston wins. Look at the numbers - the team going 0-2 at home loses Game 3 ,and usually quite badly.

Second, while in one sense I could see thinking the line smells, it doesnt. Dallas was -7 in Game 2 - you say an 8-9 point swing isnt enough? And we know all the yo-yos playing the yoyo angle keep the line down in this situation. Throw in that Dallas had the 2nd best road record and Houston has been shaky at home, th eline makes perfect sense.

Third, it is obvious that Dallas' "defensive improvement" is a sham. Dallas shoots nearly 70% on 3s and loses 2 at home? You think that is going to happen again? And if not, you think they will make up for it at the defensive end?

Regardless, win or lose, there is nothing here to justify a wager of that magnitude on Dallas.

Sun Tzu is by no means a homer.
He knows his stuff.
I agree the Mavs are good play tonite for the simple reason the Rockets have been average at best at home this year(26-15).
Not dominate.
That said I would not bet heavy on a team that just lost 2 at home and is only getting (+1 1/2) on the road.
Dallas has the better individual talent and Houston has the better team.
Which will win is a crap shoot tonite.

Not getting into any argument here, but this bit is correct.
They historically lose game 3, very badly!

I just think alot of people in play-offs get sucked into the bounce back theory, and lose sight of who is the better team and why they are winning.

Having said that, it's not up to me to tell you how much to bet on a game that you feel is a winner ;)

I'd wish you good luck, but I'm on the other side! :D :toast:
