ST. LOUIS (Suppan) +120 over ATLANTA (Smoltz)
Yesterday's loss by the Cardinals was only their second
defeat in a road game all year (7-2, +$500), picking up
where they left off in 2004 (52-29, +$1700 as visitors).
Jeff Suppan (3.42 overall ERA) pitched 8 1/3 scoreless
innings in his only road start this year, and now he's paired
with a capable but luckless John Smoltz and his 1-3
record. The Braves are averaging a very unimpressive
3.5 runs per game vs. righthanders, as opposed to to
the Cardinals' 5.0. Hard to pass up the underdog price
on a team that won 105 games last year and is well on
its way to duplicating that feat this season.
