3* - Phoenix (-5)
In Game One, Memphis was able to hold Suns? Amare Stoudemire to just 9 points but the result was a franchise record 15 three pointers by Phoenix as the outside shooters lit it up. To counter that scoring outburst in Games Two and Three, Memphis tried to cover Shawn Marion, Joe Johnson and Steve Nash allowing Stoudemire to focus on driving to the basket and drawing fouls. As a result, he went 18 of 22 from the line in Wednesday?s game and 8 of 12 on Friday night. His total points in those games were 34 and 30 respectively, making him the first Suns? player since Kevin Johnson did it in 1994, to score 30 points in two consecutive games. What now, Fratello?
Phoenix committed only 5 turnovers in Game Three for a total of only 24 in the series and have scored an average of 110.6 points per game against a Memphis team that allowed only 91.1 points during the regular season. Memphis has shown that they simply do not have what it takes to run with Phoenix.
Regardless of the outcome of this game, the Suns know that they are headed home and they really don't want to take the Grizzlies with them. Adios, muchachos!
