B/c his sorry ass was at the Lincoln Library opening..
On the 10th anniversary of the largest homegrown terrorist attack the President was absent.
He should have been there to HONOR the many SECRET SERVICE people that died that day; who risk their lives everyday to protect him and all former and past Presidents, not to mention all the people who perished that day.

and as Bush should have been.. FERDY; the Simple FACT IS the PRESIDENT of THE UNITED STATES should Attend a MEMORIAL of this MAGNITUDE and it's relevance to the WAR on TERROR, the people who protect him and the victims of this tragedy at the very least..
He obviously can't be present at every soldiers funeral or the like but in this case it was feasible!

So Cal
Bush should be doing a lot of things differently, I can say that with no hesitation. I wonder if his advisors are stupid or out of touch,or if he is simply so egotistical that he doesn't care. His actions of late should send shudders through the spines of all, including Republicans. His next attack, attempting to bring censorship to cable television and satellite radio will be a very tough sell to all but his religious right cronies. His act is wearing thin.

I'm surprised more wasn't mentioned about this. Not much of a peep - even from the elite liberal media.

Just as a side note to this...

What were the people in charge of the Lincoln Library thinking (no idea who is in charge of that... state of IL? Federal Gov? Private groups?)? But still, how do you have the big opening of something like this - and it is a big deal, and Lincoln is one of the most admired presidents in U.S. history - and then hold it on the 10-year anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing? I mean, not a single person that worked there saw the potential conflict?

i believe bush has not been to the world trade center site every anniversary of 9/11.

i don't believe clinton went to oklahoma city on every anniversary of that travesty.

i also don't believe a president has gone to pearl harbor on every anniversary of that event.

AR- I really have no opinion on this, but just as a comment to your post, I'd be willing to wager that whoever is president in 2011 will be at the WTC site. Clinton was at OKC on the first and fifth anniversarys, and was there on Tuesday.

They do a service for this every year. Does he need to go every year, or is 10 somehow magical? Are the folks less deserving of having respects paid if it is 9 years or 11 or 20 or 40? I can see an argument he should have gone, but to make much of it is just politics. On 9/11 anniversaries does he need to be in NYC or Penn or Dc or all to be sufficient? Should Clinton go every year because it was on his watch? Or maybe the liberal media isnt discussing it because they recognize it is a big stretch to be a criticism - as if they would someohow sleep through an opportunity to take a shot at W.

"the bunker"
now i know why you took the moniker sun tsu............

very well said...

if he`d gone to the memorial,he`d more than likely be getting flak for dissing the lincoln library opening.....pissant whining....insignificant...what`s done is done...

the same ones bitching about bush not showing up for the memorial in the name of honoring those that perished in the nation`s largest "home grown" terrorist attack are the same ones crying about the patriot act and all the "potential" abuses that will result from the act ........

and cry about taking extra time at the airport.....

and cry about profiling when 99% of terrorist acts against this country are perpetrated by radical muslim fundamentalists...

and cry about the "vigilante" minutemen protesting and patroling our porous borders(and rightfully so)........while the president and most every other politician sits on their hands because they don`t have the coulumes to face up to the lowly tactic of playing the race card......or the pressure of special interest groups...

and they will be the very same ones that scream bloody murder when the inevitable next terrorist attack occurs within our borders....

laughable...

i say sh-t on the symbolism....tighten up the ship....we lose 10,000 in new york or washington....maybe 100,000......who cares if the president doesn`t show up at the oklahoma city memorial?....and if they do care, get over it...

stop playing politics..

tighten up those borders...north and south...enforce the law....

symbolism is fine....but,it won`t keep us safe...

Just curious... what prompted you to dig up a post that hadn't been commented on in two weeks?

Bush seems to find the best photo opportunities. I have a hunch he goes where MR. Rowe tells him. But holding hands with the enemy down at the ranch was to many pictures
