I really like High Fly to win the derby. I will probably do a tri box with High Fly, Afleet Alex, and Noble Causeway. Might throw one other horse in there but that's it for now. One of these days I will make it down to the derby :mj14: :mj14:

I am kinda liking Flower Alley in the money somewhere....picking a winner is too high...Derby usually has great show prices so may put $200 on Flower Alley to show...also like Greeley's Galaxy....Why do you like Noble Causeway? Just curious.

Noble Causeway is my pick. I think he can he can comfortably lay off the pace, and I like the way his speed figures have improved in each start. His last work also showed some life, and you can't really go too far wrong with Gary Stevens.
You've got to think that Bellamy Road will bounce off the last monster start, and if Noble Causeway continues to show progression, he could pick up the pieces.
Good Luck.

I really like High Fly as well. This is a very good horse and we have to thank Bellamys freakish Wood for the 7-1 or so gift we will be getting.

If Bellamy didn't run that freak 120 Beyer by a 17 lengths I'm convinced High Fly would be more like 3 -1 manana.

I can't see Bellamy going from a 96 Beyer up to 120 without some regression. Not to mention can't you see the first thing out of Chris Lincolns mouth or whover is doing the NBC broadcast tomorrow?

" Not only are George Steinbreiner Yankees slumping but Georges favored derby prospect Bellamy Road has continued his the Bosses slump with a disappointing 5th place finish!"

High Fly's pro's
1) 5 wins out of 6 starts 900k earnings
2)Jerry Bailey / Nick Zito combo
3) Decent nuff post out of the 11 hole (tactical speed anyway)
4)Won the Grade 2 Ftn of Youth but more importantly the Grade 1 Florida Derby beating 2 of todays contenders Bandini and Noble Causeway
5) 5 weeks rest which some may argue is too long but trust in Zito and a nice 1.00 2/5 Breezing work at Churchill Sunday
6) Generous 7-1 odds

Cons

1) Distance of a 1 1/4 a question... but wait!.. no one in the race has gone 1 1/4 :)

Good Luck... Mint Julep is on!

Bandini scratched in Florida derby. Ran 2nd in High Fly in Fountain of Youth I believe.

Think the speed at front hurts Bellamy Rd as well as distance. Look for a closer to make some noise.

Hope the pace is lightning fast. Sets it up for closer and I will take a shot with Flower Alley at 20-1 or better.

Ran 2nd to Afleet Alex in Ark Derby. Horse is on steady improvement, has worked great, and should be flying at end. If he gets a clean trip and pace is fast, he could get to wire 1st.

Bellamy Rd could win for fun if he can rate. I question his heart though. He stopped the one time a horse caught him and looked him in the eye.

Afleet Alex and Bandini will both get a call in the stretch. Both are class horses but will need a clean trip. If Bellamy Rd falters, either can win this.

Noble Causeway is another closer who will be flying at the end.

20 horses, tons of traffic, question mark on favorite. Anything could happen here.
