2* - Detroit (-8.5)
The Pacers vs. the Pistons. You just knew it would come down to this last November when Ben Wallace decided he wanted a piece of Ron Artest and . . . . . well, the rest is history. Artest will not be playing in this series for reasons that are known all too well, Jamall Tinsley is hobbled with an ankle sprain, Jermaine O?Neil is nursing a bad shoulder and then there?s Reggie Miller, playing his old heart out. And this was supposed to be the Pacer?s year.
Detroit?s Hamilton averaged a team high 21.4 points against the 76ers in Round One. Actually, all of the Piston's starters return from last season?s Championship run and all of them are averaging double figures in scoring in the playoffs with McDyess adding 8.6 points a game. On the Pacers side, they have just three players in Miller, O?Neil and Jackson who are scoring more than McDyess in the post-season.
Let? see, six days of rest for the Piston?s since they polished off AI & Co. opposed and just one day off for the Pacers after their blowout win over Boston on Saturday. I think that I?ll take the Champs in this rematch at The Palace.
In the late game, I'm going with a small parlay on the Suns (-6.5) and Over (225). Good luck to all, I'm headed to dinner and a night out on the town!
