Have my largest wager in a while on heat to win the east. Got a decent size at -170 a week ago. Didn't think the line would go down that much. Just added quite a bit more at -125.

I won't give amounts or any reasoning, because I don't want to hear Mr. Piston coming in this thread telling me how great this Piston team is. Guess what? They aren't. They were good last year. Better than anyone else in the league. This year not the case. Not even close. Not sure how many games, nor do I care. Heat win, bottom line. All you pistons people can talk all you want afterward, I don't want to hear it now, nor does it matter. I've placed my bets. If you like the pistons bet em then.

Tired of this message board turning into a pissing contest.

gl and godspeed

I have Pistons to win finals so not gonna wish you luck. :) I also respect your handicapping and was disapointed to see you taking the Heat. Too bad you do not want to share why you like Heat to win east. You might have some good angles to support your wager. One thing is I don't understand your negative comments about Pistons. They beat Sixers in round 1 and Pacers round 2. Heat beat Wizards and Nets. Doesn't mean Pistons beat Heat but I think they should have earned your respect. Especially after winning the NBA championship last year.

Good luck on your others plays in NBA playoffs! I always read your posts! Just don't like the this play!

Scott,

suppose wishing you luck wouldn't do me much good either as butting heads on this one. I posted the play because I played it rather large and figured why not post it. If the heat lose, nothing would make me happier than to see you win your piston bet winning the finals.

I guess I shouldn't just post a pick and not give reasoning and I will add to it tomorrow when I have more energy or time. I don't necessarily have angles as you put it, but I do have reasoning and I will share it when less time constrained (plenty of tivo to catch up on)

As for my negative comments on the pistons, I didn't think I made any necessarily. I respect their team immensely. I just think they are the third best team left in the playoffs. Heat and SA are better IMO. Beating the sixers and a depleted banged up Pacers squad means nothing. Just as much nothing as the Heat rolling the nets and wizards. All four teams weren't ever serious contenders. The heat did what they had to in ease, and the pistons struggled with Indiana a bit, but won both series like they were supposed to.

The biggest problem I have with the Pistons beating the heat is their defense. Yes defense wins championships. Yes, they are really good at it, but I'm convinced the Heat have more offensive power than the Lakers did last year. Plenty of people don't know that Shaq and Kobe didn't speak once during the finals. At least not civily. That team was breaking no matter who they played in the finals. Taking nothing away from the pistons performance last year, they beat a team with ZERO chemistry. Kobe firing up desperation shots, Payton pouting on the bench, Malone MIA. This year Shaq and Wade are best buds. Eddie Jones is great in the mix. The team is clicking on all cylinders. AND THE MOST IMPORTANT THING is that Wade isn't a ballhog like Kobe. The Heat get shaq the ball.

The pistons have all my respect, I just don't think they have enough firepower to hang with the heat. Yes they are good, yes they have great defense, but the heat have more firepower and can play defense as well. I'll elaborate more later.

Just didn't want worlds number one piston fan coming in here and saying I'm an idiot. Pistons in 4. Because unfortunately that's pretty much the direction the NBA forum here at MJ's has come to.

gl with all your other plays

BDodgerBlue..........I respect everyones opinion and think Heat are a very formidable opponent althought I took Detroit myself. My best friend also likes Heat and I posed this question to him so I will pose it to you........Answer if you want to.......

How can you possibly be willing to risk a any $$$ on the Heat with Shaq being such a question mark????

I could seen if he was going into this series healthy but if a guy like him could be hobbled I sure would re-think my wager.
I made my wager on Deet weeks ago so I went in thinking Oniell was ok.
Are you that confident Shaq is going to be ok the full series if so you must know something I dont.........
Good Luck
