you can make the same case for half the league. 1% of the league actually cares about the game and that estimate might be to high.

insert vince carter into your post and you have the same argument.

NBA is the ultimate "me first" league.

how about latrell sprewell. can't feed his family.

.....and these guys are superstars?

Alonzo's problems may have had something to do with the fact that almost none of his teammates at NJ gave a crap and didn't respect him. Remember one of them mocking his serious medical condition? Wasn't it Kenyon Martin? What a loser that guy is.

Mourning is an a$$... the guy whines about every call and if he makes a basket, you would think it was the game winner the way he reacted.

I think it is great, he has played is whole career in the shadow of Shaq... he never even liked shaq because Shaq was drafted above him. Now he is riding Shaq (and wades) coattails to a possible championship.

I think every fan who has 4-5 players who you hope never win a championship... for me Zo is one of them.

Altough I will agree Martin is a bum for antics with Zo.

the guy is a hero for playing with his condition

you have no idea what he goes through with the meds that he is on and it is a wonder that he is in good enough shape to go take a pounding every other night in the lane

His courage is amazing. I give him credit for coming back and being able to play

his personality on the court sucks. To me, he is just like Karl Malone on the court, not taking anything away from his game, but in his head, he can do no wrong on the court.

This "Hero" sure couldnt muster the same type of effort only months ago when he was with NJ.

Wonder if the owners of the Nets thinks hes a hero........????

He also was traded to Toronto in the Vince Carter deal and refused to report. The Raptors, being the moronic organization that they are, not only traded away Carter for nothing, but then proceeded to buy out Mourning for $10 million so that he could go play for Miami. He'd never be there if it wasn't for the Raptors rewarding him for not showing up and asking for nothing in return...

Total disgrace what Mourning has done this season. Same goes for Jim Jackson.
