I will update this thread tomorow if there is a change in playing status ................that I hear about.
I guess Wade must be an very integral part of the Miami Heat's scheme in the eyes of the betting public(or books) as they are now 6.5 dogs for their game tomorrow night at Detroit.
The latest word out of the Heat camp is that their star guard has a bruised/straine rib, is taking reatment and it is very sore. He will be a game time decision as of now, 7 PM.
Folks........My take: Miami needs him to be competitive. Theit chemistry is nowhere near the same without him.

Series at 3-2 now..... Heat can let one slip and have him back ?

Who will take Wades place ?

Is Wade worth the 6.5 is my question ?

Yeh, Scott............my guess is that they rest him & take their chances. No way they let him sit for a game 7, tho. With this so called reprieve, Detroit ought to come out smokin, especially at home. Heat are not the same team without him.....they just don't "flow" with him not in there.
Is he worth the 6.5? I dunno. I guess the extra 2-3 points are justified. The number seems about right to me, considering Shaq not 100%, defending champs, Detroit, at home with a possible new life, their wild fans, Wade at best 50%. There other variables to figure. If Detroit can be up by 4 with a minute to go, it will almost be like a cover of the 6.5 as Miami will pull maybe Shaq and foul themselves. Such a fine line at the end, ya know? Such an unknown quantity. You can look at it one way: The jump in spread to 6.5 is only 1 made Heat shot in 48 minutes. So, wer'e asking if Wade is worth one 3 point bucket for the game
I am probably going to pass on the game myself, not even a total play. I do have the Heat for the series and SA to go all the way, so I have some action anyway.

thanx hitman, i suspected he was hurt more than anyone let on, just by nature of the the impossibility of playing with a strain in that area, effectively anyhow ...

why play him at 70% (throwing out hypo #) and risk him being the same or worse for game 7?

I still think heat could win w/o him in game 6 ... Prob only one who does

If heat is looking shakey another possible scenario is only play shaq 25 mins or so and make sure hes close to best condition in finale ... lotsa intriguing factors domino down in this scenario involving wade

take care

PT1........yup, he's achin alright.
On Shaq, tho, I think his injury, right now, is as good as it is going to get. Thigh bruises sometimes take many weeks to heal & it appears that his is very deep. If you watch, he is still lumbering down the court. If they are down a bunch late, I agree, tho, they might pack it in & pull him. Mourning, still a very capable replacement for him in spots.........but not for extended minutes.
Too many variables & questions for me to wager here. But,the very best of GL to those who do. Somebody's gonna be right and hit it & come out a winner, that's for sure.
And, you might be right, sometimes, facing injuries & adversity, some teams just pop an instant hard on, catch the other team sleeping have a player or two come out of nowhere(hmmm darkhorse veteran like Steve Smith, capable and been sitting) and win. But, I will stick to my original thought: the Heat's offense just doesn't flow right with Wade not playing.

good info thanks...

I would say the play for me is going to be Miami Heat
taking the points.

Motivation is to get this series over with so Wade can recover
for San Ant.

"It's very, very painful," Miami coach Stan Van Gundy said. "It feels like he's being stabbed when he breathes. We'll just have to wait and see."
That doesn't sound good.

Pro.........perhaps because he has Shaq to answer to now ! :scared
Wade hurt his lower back executing a cossover dribble. He more than likely stretched an intercostal muscle between two lower back ribs, which are the 7th thru the 12th, with the 11th & 12th floating. Or, it may be slightly torn. I have had this injury myself, and it is brutal to live with, sometimes hurting to even breathe. Turns, quick movements or sometimes even a sneeze or hiccup are characterized by sharp pain. It is a very restricting-type of injury. Now, I am not sure what type of pain killers , etc. they can or will give him..........I am sure they will be better than what I had access to.
Normal recovery time varies, but full recovery starts at 2-3 weeks.
My guess is a no go tonite or if he goes , he will be at best 50%.

No change in Wade's status for tonite. He just walked verrrrry slowly and gingerly into the Palace. Figure on a no-go or perhaps a 50% player. GL tonite........THE HITMAN

U got it Scott. I am not sure what I want with Wade tonite. Actually, I am not a big Heat fan as most would surmise. I have San Antonio to win it all. I have the Heat for this series, so I don't know if I want Wade to play and chance it this time or not. I guess I'd like Miami, of course, to win tonite and have him gimp or be out all the way against SA. But a loss tonite and a win in game 7 will be OK, too. But,I won't be playing the game tonite, just gonna watch.

Don Best just upgraded Wade to expected to play. Saying that though their info is crap so often.....I think they make stuff up in order to change lines so that they can bet themselves.
