Before this game I would have thought they could..........but after watching them tonight without him I just dont think anyone else can put up decent #'s besides Shaq.............even if Shaq scores 40 they are going to have to have someone else step up. I am not so sure they have another player to have a good game maybe Damon Jones????

They are going to have trouble winning if he does play. The first line I saw was Heat -2......I will guess that even if Wade starts, the line won't pass 3. But if he doesn't start then the line will end up Pis -1.

YES Miami can win game 7 without Wade because it is at Miami. That is #1 reason.

Eddie Jones, D. Jones, and Butler are capable of each having big games. Butler has been AMAZING for Heat this series. I am shocked how well he has played each and every game. Can you rely on these 3 players for a game 7? Only 1 of them has real playoff experience and not sure if any of them played in a must win game (especially game 7).

Detroit is very capable of going in scoring droubts. They don't play consistent on offense. They do it all the time. You can bank on that happening in game 7, unless Wallace has huge game like he did in game 1 @Miami. He is due to have big game.

I also have hunch fouls will go Miami's way. :)

Shaq made 5 of his first 7 shots tonight and Miami stopped going to him. Why? Detroit can only slow down Shaq when Campell is guarding him but he gets fouls fast.

Game 7 I think they will go to Shaq throughout game and Shaq MUST play well all 4 quarters. Something he has not yet in this series. He has almost been flawless in 1q in every game and don't see that changing in game 7. This will give Miami early lead or prevent Detroit from getting early lead. Keep crowd in game.

I can't wait for this game and I guess I caught major break with Wade not being 100%. Although I felt Pistons win game 6 regardless. Wade def. will play game 7 and he even said so. How much and/or how effective is the big question. Detroit not an easy team to play against with an injury. I am obviously rooting for Detroit! :)

I am absolutely, positively, rediculously, stupendously sure they can not win without Wade.
I could not agree more.

Without Wade? Not a chance in hell. Detroit had the advantages in fast-break points (19-7), second-chance points (18-7), and points off turnovers (25-2).

We have already seen the best these two have to offer.

Shaq scored for his season average. I would have expected much more with Wade out and Shaq being the focus of the offense. He appeared flat-footed under the glass and Miami had only five offensive rebounds.

I said Miami "can" win the game, not "will" win the game. Miami is sitll a talented team without Wade. That talent just has to play well in 1 game. It can realistically happen because the game is @Miami.

You made great arguments about Detroit advantages without Wade and I agree with you 100%. Only area I disagree is that I think Miami would still have a 30% chance in winning without Wade and a 60% with healthy Wade.

My #1 reason is Detroit is not consistent on offense and relies too heavily on jump shots. They do not have enough of an inside game. They often go in scoring droubts. We all know how much easier it is to score at home vs road!

Detroit usually needs 3 guys to have big games to win. Right? RIP, R. Wallace, and Billups are 3 best Detroit players. Only RIP has been consistent in this series and he has even had off game or 2. IMO all 3 must at least hit there averages to win game 7 "on the road" with/without Wade. It might not be a HIGH probability that all 3 hit there averages in game 7 on road, when 2/3 have been inconsistent. Therefore I think Detroit has 70% in winning without Wade playing (or playing severly hurt). I would give Detroit 95% if these 3 players played well all series. They have not.

Of course, Miami has a chance. At a minimum, D.Wade at least pulls a Willis Reed and the crowd goes absolutely pscyho. My guess is that he plays - how well, is another story. The role players always play a lot better at home.

This series has gone back and forth with the advantage going to the team that just got beat. That would be Miami. There is no way Miami is not going to be fired up and I can't see the calls going against them.

It doesn't appear that Wade's injury is that serious. It probably hurts like hell, but it is not a major or career ending injury.

The guy is going to play and my guess is that there is a fair chance he will play pretty well. Throw in the home court advantage and being embarassed in game #6, Miami will be more than ready to play.

Sure, Detroit could win, but I would still have to go with Miami. The question is what are Detroit's chances if Wade DOES play?

wade will prob play, but i cant see him being anywhere near 85% but you never know how quickly some injuires heal ...

I guess it would make sense to hear some specialist talk about the grade of injury, etc .... but like TOwens people heal differently ...

i also think like COUGLJ that heat could easily win w/o wade playing at all ... its a one shot deal and ive seen it all in my life at every level--i watched Willis limp out as kid and hit first 2 shots, and so many other games when people think an injury spelled doom (i.e. Pats secondary vs Manning)... Heat has plenty of players to carry the bill for one game ... heck, pacers beat deet and so did 76ers (almost 2xs too) with far less casts ... of course deet could put together a good game but theyve been wildly uneven all post season ...

Kenny Smith had great point, how will heat and deet players step up in a game 7 ... i see it as nearly a push due to deets exp. and heat being at home ... tuff one to cap--if wade is close to healthy heat def. is favored tho ....

I say: You have a hurt rib in a crucial Game 6 - suck it up and get on the court.

Football players play with all kinds of pain. I can understand you need your ankles, knees, legs in basketball but this was a HUGE game - a RIB??! You have to strap it on.

Gregg I had this thought myself but did not know how to explain it, VERY SOLID point of reference with the Pats point...I have learned that over time, an injury to your star only makes your other role players want to come out and show that they too have what it TAKES TO WIN...I know im favoring the Heat obviously as I have the series, but this point is very solid imho...gl bud
