I went 1-2 on straight bets last night but went 1-1 on pars. The help started like a house a-fire and fizzled. Started 2-0 and then went 0-3. I don't believe there's enough help for NYY right now so I'm going to quit posting them. At least I was smart enough to put them only in a par when they looked to be one of the strongest plays of the day. Thank goodness I hit my little 7-1 par so finished the day up 5 units. The life saver was a scoreless last 3 innings at Colo which gave me a 3 unit push. So much for that, here's where it's at today.

CHICAGO WHITE SOX (Contreras) -140 over COLORADO (Kim)

Sometimes other people's misfortune can bring opportunity to the numbers
player. Colorado manager Clint Hurdle missed the opening of this series
due to the hospitalization of his daughter--who is expected to be OK--for
seizures. That means bench coach Jamie Quirk will hold down the fort until
Hurdle returns. The Rockies also lost Clint Barmes and his .371 OPB from
the top of the lineup after he broke his collerbone after allegedly falling
down the stairs while carrying groceries Sunday night. To make matters
even worse, Colorado will start Byung Hyun Kim, who is sporting a robust
7.04 ERA and 25/25 K/BB ratio in 30.2 IP and making only his second start
of the season. Jose Contreras has pitched very well, allowing only 48 hits
in 66 innings pitched, but has been victimized by low run support from his
mates. We don't expect that to be much of a problem tonight against Kim
at Coors.
