Looking at this game, i am confident that the Yankee/DRays game will sail over the total by the 5th or 6th inning...

The Yanks will simply light up Fossum because

1. they crush lefties (6.1 runs per game and even higher at night at home)
2. they are getting hot
3. fossum is terrible
4. Fossum is 1-3 with an ERA of 6.65 against NY...
5. fossum = over

Now for Tampa... Sean Henn got smoked last time facing the drays to the tune of 5 ER in 2 1/3 innings for a wopping ERA of 19.31 with the game ending 11-8 in favor of tampa..

I am sure you can look at stats all day that support this play, so look for a lotta of run support from the bombers and there is no way Henn shuts down a desperate tampa team that now knows they can win at yankee stadium.. reverse the score of 5/4/05's game... Yankees win 11-8!!!

All of this adds up to one huge OVER for a rather large play... NY/DRays over 10' for 5 units

I welcome your thoughts and opinions on this game!!

some additional thoughts on this play:

1) 22 of Tampa's 33 road games have gone over the total this year.
2) 3 of the Yankees last 4 games have gone under, despite the fact that they are hitting the tar out of the ball (i.e. they are due for an OVER).
3) the Yankees are the AL's best hitting team vs. lefties, with a league best 123 runs, 210 hits and 28 HRs (they have the second best batting avg. versus lefties at .290).
4) Tampa hits lefties pretty well too, as they are 3rd best in hits with 196 and 5th best in runs scored with 94.
5) Fossum's ERA on the road this year is 5.29.
6) in Fossum's last 2 starts, he has gone 11 innings, allowing 13 hits and 7 walks.
7) Henn has only 1 major league start--against the Devil Rays, who blasted him (2.1 innings, 7 hits, 2 walks, ERA of 19.29).
8) Henn's minor league numbers are only decent: 4-2 record, 48 innings allowing 44 hits.
9) in his career versus the Yankees, Fossum is 3-3, with an ERA of 6.07, having pitched 29.2 innings, allowing 38 hits and 11 walks.
10) some of the Yankees career batting averages against Fossum are as follows: Womack .500; Giambi .438; Posada .375; Matsui .333; ARod .333; and Sheffield .333.

as you can see, I was looking at this play myself.

I wouldnt touch that total. I got Yanks -10.5 (-25). If someone had a gun to my head, I would take the under.

Yanks Runline is the best play for this game!

THE OVER ON THIS GAME IS GOING TO BE COVERED IN FIVE INNINGS, BOTH PICTHERS ARE NO GOOD AT ALL, THE YANKS POUNDS LEFTYS AND YOU CAN NOT TRUST THE PITCHER THE YANKS ARE SENDING HERE TODAY...

I AM THINKING THAT THE DEVILS ARE GOING TO SCORE AT LEAST 5 RUNS AND THE YANKEES ARE NOT GOING TO LOSE THIS GAME SO THE TOLTAL IS GOING TO BE COVERED.

GOOD LUCK

Thanks for the heads up bm

IMO wind blowing in from right at 10-12 mph wont really affect the outcome of this game. I am not counting on the longball to send this game over. I look for both teams to have 8-15 hits.

GL!

Wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see Tampa win this game outright.

I wouldnt either, but they're going to have to score more than the yanks which will be at least 6 runs... over!!
