"the bunker"
""In his newscast tonight, “NBC Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams compared America’s first presidents to the president-elect of Iran, alleged hostage-taker Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, saying they were “certainly revolutionaries and might have been called terrorists by the British crown.”

At least six of the Americans held at the U.S. embassy in Tehran as hostages for 444 days claim Ahmadinejad was one of the leaders of the captors, having recognized him on television reports.

Williams’ comment came in a question to reporter Andrea Mitchell.

At the end of Mitchell’s report, Williams asked, “What would it all matter if proven true? Someone brought up today the first several U.S. presidents were certainly revolutionaries and might have been called ‘terrorists’ by the British crown, after all.”""

i have no idea whether this is the guy or not....

what i found interesting is that our "mainstream media" likes to label the radical fundamentalists as "insurgents" or "revolutionaries".....

that is,unless they are referring to the "founding fathers".....then, the "terrorist" label is apropos.....lol

?....

weasel, i feel for you man. your gonna drive yourself to an early grave with your media crusade. you cite too many examples for any of them to have impact. maybe you should pick one horrible elite media example per month and parade it's ridiculousness - instead of this barage which really is just making you come off as kind of a psychopath.

Brian WIlliams worked for the Carter administration. They handled so many things well, like Iran. I guess he has to rationalize in any way he can.

GW, what is it about what he said that you don't agree with? Do you think the Brits held our founding fathers in high regard? To us they are and should be hero's but to the opposition I am sure they were thought of as being much less than that.

stevie...it`s the selective use of terminology...the politically correct labeling......

insurgents...revolutionaries....that`s the media`s way of shaping a story.....

when discussing the founding fathers....a bunch of "white slave owners" that liberals are now trying to tear down in the public forum,it`s o.k to say "terrorists"....

another example....the times and the a.p. jumping all over the gitmo abuse allegations....the times having something like 20 straight front page articles about "alleged" abuse...

then, the legislators go down to take a look, give a thumbs up and it ends up on page 19...

now, stories come out about how the prisoners attacked guards...threw urine at them...knocked one guard`s teeth out...the spitting...the threatening of the soldier`s familiy`s lives....the soldiers now have to cover their nameplates on their shirts...

but because the violence, threats and abuse are against the u.s. guards, the a.p. calls it “defiance:”

it`s all perspective...and much of the mainstream media is anti-u.s....

It works both ways like the way the Corporate Press has all but ignored the Downing Street Memo's. We can agree GW that much of the mainstream media is anti-US but they are pro Bush.

Can't blame anyone for ignoring street memos as I told you before.
How could any news worthy outfit--report on one person who "supposedly" had originals BUT destroyed them to retype his own interpretation. Aside from NYT and Algezeera not many would touch that with 10 ft pole.
