That is a true "homer ump" run he's got going on, but be careful when you say "homer" with this Umpire.
I don't get near as deep into the Umpire stuff as I used to, but I still keep an eye on some and I still can't bring myself to bet against any New York team if Brian Gorman is behind the plate.
Gorman is originally from New York, has a lot of ties there and I believe does a lot of charity work there. Also, his Dad who also Umped in the majors, played for the NY Giants before his umpiring career.
I seen that covers has the Mets at 5-5 the last 10 that Gorman was the Home Ump, so maybe the trend I'm recalling is more with the Yankees games, but I'll tell you right now, that if anyone has the numbers, you should check them out because they used to be unreal in favor of New York.
I'm not playing the game, and maybe what I wrote doesn't mean anything anymore, but I know Gorman used to = Bet NY and just thought I'd throw it out there for those interested. If anyone has the actual record for both New York teams during Gormans career, I'd love to see them as well.
