The Devil Rays snapped their 10 game losing streak
when they scratched out a win yesterday, but don't look
for them to follow up with another victory this afternoon.
Lefty vs. lefty matchups greatly favor the visitor, given the
Tigers' 13-6 (+$875 with 5.5 runs per game) record vs.
southpaws, as well as Tampa Bay's dismal 7-21 (-$910)
mark in that situation. Mike Maroth has done his best work
on the road, with an ERA in 8 starts well below 2.50. Mark
Hendrickson, on the other hand, has seen his ERA balloon
to 5.91 overall. The Devil Rays are the worst team in baseball
and are too inviting a target right now for us to pass up.

The Phillies are value today in an early First Pitch.



The Phils picked up a solid win over the Nationals yesterday, a walk-off win, and today get a crack at Esteban Loaiza, who is 1-4 on the highway and has a sketchy 5,24 ERA.

Now get this for a huge intangible - while his ERA is way up there, seven of his eight road starts have seen the Nationals stay under the posted number.

This will be his first road start in quite some time, while Jon Lieber makes his first home start since June 24. I like the value here.
