just started to play yesterday, great time, only lost $5 in 4 hour miss baseball
My question is while playing when my phone rings i get disconnected. I have broadband not dial-up and it doesn't cut me oiff when I'm on regular internet.
any help is apprectiated. is bad to have a nut hand and can't play it. am computer stupid

It works like this:

If you are playing a cash game you are alloted 1 disconect protect per day, meaning if you get disconected playing a cash game, and you have money in the pot you are considered all-in at that point and keep your seat at the table but don't get dealt cards till you come back. If there is a waiting list for that particular game and you can't get back before you miss 2 orbits you will be "picked up" and the seat will be vacated and all chips go back to your account.
The second time it happens in a day you lose whatever was in the pot and you hand is folded. The reason for this is people do abuse the disconnect feature. Say you have second best hand with a good amount of chips in the pot and someone moves all-in at a NL table, you don't have to call, you simply disconnect yourself and are considered all-in at that point without calling the other bet. This way you can't be bluffed out of a pot.

If you are in a tournament you have a time bank of 60 seconds, if you get disconnected and can't get back in time your hand is folded, no questions asked. You will also be posting your blinds when it is your turn and folding automatically.

These are important questions. I had a similar problem with my DSL service. When I got a call my computer would disconnect.
The solution is a small "dongle" that plugs into the wall outlet. Then the phone line is plugged into that. It can be obtained from your phone company (no charge). This small extension will cure all your problems. You MUST install one on all of you phone connections

hook-up is thru phone line but do not have this problem when i'm on regular web. Thought this might be a off-shore gambling issue and did not want to call provider because of the legality. Been 3 days & still happens & see other players get dissconnected also

I like the site, setup, ect..but the phucking river card there is always a Biach.
