Well, last night at work, I was robbed. My passenger glass was broken out, my car was rifled through, and they broke out my dash and relieved me of my stereo. My cell phone was not where I left it, but on closer inspection, I found it in the back floorboard. I took my cell phone in after I talked to the police officer and didn't think much more about it and finished my shift. When I was leaving, I turned my cell phone on and I pushed the send button which shows numbers dialed. Guess what... The thief used my cell phone!! It's a local cell company prefix. I called the police and left a voice mail for the responding officer. I doubt the police will put too much time into this since my total damages will be less than 500 bucks, but I sure would like to know who owned that number that was called. Seems like a good lead to me. Any ideas? Thanks.
PS The police here do not fingerprint this kind of crime, so that wasn't/won't be done. I think that only happens for capital crimes or maybe felonies? Also, a friend called the number and put 3 numbers before he dialed (he said that way the number doesn't show on caller id???) but it just said it was disconnected/no longer in service. ALso, I'm pretty sure this was random as the police officer said there had been a rash of these crimes in the area, but they usually did not break out windows to gain access.
