I bet the Indians Early Last Night, and Now I read today on this forum that everyone is on them as a pretty good play. It seems like a very good play but the line hasnt moved much. It just seems scary now, that alot of people like it but the line hasnt moved. I just wish hafner was in the lineup and healthy I would really fell good about this play. They are just a different team without his big bat.

I find -142 a nice price for cle. I certainly feel they win this matchup at home over the breakeven point ---> 60% of the time.

Well-rested C. Lee(low pitch count last time out as Soul Train pointed out) has fared well vs. Sea this season and in years past with low era and whip around 1.05.

Meche has struggled with his control. He has always been a better pitcher in pitcher-friendly Safeco. Cle hung 5 runs and 11 baserunners on Meche in 5 innings in Safeco this season.

GL on your gut play:weed:

Just something short as I'm on myway out, but Meche is Seattle's best this year at 10-6 winning 5 of the last 7 decisions. Sure he's 1-5 all- time against the Tribe with a 5.40 ERA, but that can change to 2-5, it's not set in stone. Meche's L3 starts 12 runs/8 ER's/18 hits/2 HR's. Lee's L3 starts 11 runs/11ER's/19 hits/3 HR's. With this being so close and a few other things, I've my $$$ on Seattle today....GL to us all.... :mj14:

IMO

people in general put way too much weight on starting pitchers when capping baseball

I think Vegas has the lures out in this one

maybe it's the Tribes stellar 3-4 home record in Lee's starts

GL on your action

going against Gil Meche in this one, as he's lost three straight outings to Cleveland, including an earlier clash this season.
In those three games, the Tribe has pelted the Mariners for 17 earned runs over 15 innings.
Sure, he's won two straight, but Cleveland owns his arsenal, and there is nothing he can do except plan on an early escape in this one.
Plus, this is a cheap price to lay in this pitching mismatch, as Cliff Lee gets it done in dominating fashion.

It is REALLY, REALLY tough to go against the "psychic machine" bryanz.....he's been on fire lately, but we're talkin about today and the BIG PICTURE. Have another "Biere" lol....J/K.

Personally, I'm on Cleveland as well. Meche has definitely had his problems with Cleveland and on the road in his career. His only start at Jacobs Field: 3.1 Innings pitched, 10 hits, 3 walks, 0 K's, 8 earned runs.

I doubt if he gets hammered that hard, but the guy has always had his struggles on the road in evidence of his 5.42 career ERA on the Road vs his 3.81 career Home ERA.

As far as just looking at starters?? I still like the Tribe's pen over Seattles, so not sure I understand that comment.

With Timmons behind in the fav is 14-3, the home team is 13-4, Cle is 7-3 and the fav is 7-3 in Cle games. Sea is 3-4 on the road and Meche is 2-1 and his team is giving up 3' runs a game. When Meche pitches his team is 9-8. When Lee pitches his team is 13-3. Timmons is a over ump whichs translates a narrow strike zone. Fav the better pitcher and the hitters.
