it is a shame though, they probably will not see a dime bc the brown family is first in line gettting his $$$. It is also a shame that family probably will not see that much anyway bc of his NFL pension for 25g a month is untouchable.

July 27, 2005 -- DirecTV can squeeze O.J. Simpson for $25,000 for stealing the signal of its satellite-TV service, a Florida federal judge ruled yesterday.

The ex-gridiron great ? acquitted by a California jury in the 1994 killings of his ex-wife and one of her friends ? had no DirecTV account and admitted in court that he had two devices designed to steal its signal, the company said.

Authorities raided Simpson's home on Dec. 4, 2001 as part of an investigation of satellite-TV piracy in Dade County, Fla., where he now lives.

"The evidence was overwhelming," said Dan Fawcett, a DirecTV executive vice president.

"The devices seized in Simpson's home were connected to his TV and in operation and receiving unauthorized signals at the time of the raid."

Simpson could not be reached for comment.

DirecTV will have to get in line if they hope to collect any money.

A California civil jury in 1997 found Simpson liable for the killings of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, and ordered him to pay $33.5 million to their survivors.

The Brown and Goldman families have collected only a few hundred thousand dollars of the judgment, and Simpson lives off a football pension which has been reported at $25,000 a month ? and which by law is protected from attachment in a civil suit.

I know a guy that got got one of the "letters" from Dave. The site he was buying his unloopers from got busted by Dave and they gave up there whole client list.

He got a letter demanding $30,000. He talked to a lawyer and was told to try for a settlement. He ended up paying $10,000 and was forced to pay for a 1 year subscription to Directv. :nutkick Talk about adding salt to the wound. He had to take a second mortgage out on his house to pay for it.

The new card hasnt been hacked publicly yet. Its pretty well bullet proof.

Now if anyone is thinking about jumping on the Dishnet bandwagon I would advise not to because the streams are being switched over to Niagra2 and there is no known hack for this either. The complete switch is suppose to happen sometime in September.

The records showed he had bought about 30 of them. He was reselling them so that is why he got dinged for so much. They offered to let him off cheaper than $10,000 if he would tell them the names of everyone that he had sold to. He refused to do that. I dont think it would have helped much because everyone paid him in cash so there was no record.

The reason everyone got a letter was because they paid by credit card. With a money order there wouldnt have been a trail.

You probably got hit for $1500. The only reason i know that is because when this all started my brother got a DAVE letter demanding money. He talked to a lawyer and it cost him $200 for the lawyer to write a letter to DAVE explaining that he was using the unlooper for work purposes only and if they decided to take him to court he would counter-sue. He is a computer geek by trade so it worked out for him. He never heard another word about it.
