Palmero thought he was taking something that was undetectable and got caught...Giambi is doing the same exact thing....he is jucing right now, along with who knows else...thinking they are taking something that is undetectable...he will get caught....no way a guy getting ready to be sent to the minors breaks a yankee record for homeruns in JUly and looks like he gained 40 pounds of water weight in his face...impossible

Major league baseball is a joke! As a huge fan of the game, it makes me sick to my stomach to watch this going on. History will be harsh on these cheaters for the irreparable damage they have done to the credibility of the game. It is a shame. The name of everyone convicted should be banned forever from record books, from the Hall of Fame, and from any awards for the remainder of their careers. 10 day suspension, big deal.

Bud Selig should resign and they should get someone in their who's express purpose is to clean up the drug problem!

Who's clean is my question?

Who's clean is my question?

The only excuse I can think of is the fact that records were being broken left and right and who wouldn't want to be part of the craze? This is almost like peer pressure to drink alcohol or smoke pot or take drugs, if you thought you can gain an edge, why not, particularly when you see the Brady Anderson's of the world cranking out 50 hours in a season....there's no doubt that roids has enhanced performance from earlier generations, no doubt....just think about Ben Johnson and the Olympics beating Carl Lewis for the first and last time and then getting caught...this generation, I'm afraid hasn't ruined baseball, but I think a boat load of hitting records that have or will be broken are almost meaningless....whose records can you trust?....maybe one should say "so what"...well if roids were available to Babe Ruth, I doubt he would have fallen apart like he did in his late 30s early 40s...so it's not a level playing field...the good news is I think it's over...there's cheaters but they are getting caught....but the sport overall has a very significant "black-eye" that will last awhile...not as bad the strike but still, pretty bad...

i personally dont fault the players...when everyone else is doing it, what r you supposed to do..especially when no was getting tested or caught...and there is no doubt baseball knew when macquire and sosa "saved" baseball with their pursuit of maris' record they were juicing...why did the players union figth so hard?? because they knew.

I couldn't disagree more. The strike did not tarnish the record books. Just like Pete Rose, even though he was a disgrace to the game, did not tarnish the game, only himself. Palmiero and any others that have done illegal performance-enhancing drugs have tarnished the game beyond repair because they have altered the record books. A 10-game suspension is not sufficient punishment for the permanent damage he has done to the game. He should be out for at least a year and banned permanently from the Hall of Fame. What a scumbag.
