Outright plays (total stake per play: 1.5pts)

Chris DiMarco to win 20/1 e.w. available generally
A little lower price than I would have liked, but DiMarco is definitely a player to side with in this event. He has three top-6 finishes in the last four years and it is notable that on each occasion he also finished in the top-15 in the Buick Open which is always played in back-to-back weeks and that when he has not finished in the top-15 in the Buick Open, he has finished outside the top-30 in this event. He finished 12th last week and looked set for far higher until a seven on the 13th hole on Sunday. He may be a little suspect when on the leaderboard - for example, he had a commanding 9pt lead after two rounds last year, but had eight bogeys in the 3rd round to fall to just a share of the lead - but this format and desert golf normally brings the best out of DiMarco.

Tim Clark to win 33/1 e.w. available generally
Clark had been a little suspect when on the leaderboard, but was extremely impressive when winning the Scottish Open last month. It was preceded by top-15 finishes in his last three PGA Tour starts and he entered the final round of the Open Championship in the top-10, so there are no concerns about his form. The only worry is his last of course experience - he finished 71st in his sole appearance in 2002 - but he is a far better player now and has shown himself capable of contending under very different conditions. In his current form, he should contend every week.

Geoff Ogilvy to win 40/1 e.w. available generally
Ogilvy did little wrong last week other than a couple of late bogeys in the second round and an inability to hole a putt in the final round. Outside that, he played extremely well and enough to suggest that his 5th place finish at St Andrews was no flash in the pan. His course form is good with top-15 finishes in his first two visits in 2002 and 2003 and last year he was in 2nd place after the 1st round before fading in the swirling winds over the weekend. Ranked alongside Clark in the top-20 of the Tour's Birdie Average category, this is an event in which he should play well and his current form is certainly supportive of that.

Hate this tourney--will venture out on a couple already mentioned

Tway 17.5 and Mayfair 13.5 -both to place top 5 @ IAS

a couple 72 holes
Mayfair +105 over O'Hair @ Pinn
Pernice -110 over Mediate @ Boyles

Have opposed O'hair this week with bout anyone noteworthy-
Hard for young one to play this elevation 1st time and compounded when caddy (Steve Lucas) never been here either.

Outrights

Haven't had time to analyze matchups this week, so I may not play any (probably a good thing after last week's poor effort).

I'll probably be jinxing DTB again, only this time with Tway. But I like him and three longer shots this week.

Bob Tway 120-1 Win Only @ WSEX (1 point)
--Tway 4-1 to Place in the Top 10 @ Hollywood (1 point). I know WSEX inflates its win-only lines to draw bets like mine, but Tway's record over this course and during this season makes him a contender whenever he tees it up.

Mathias Gronberg 200-1 e.w. @ Sportingbet
--As I get more into outright wagering, I am quickly learning the value of player's Web sites. Gronberg recently went through an irons change, and now has a new putter. He's finished 6th, 29 and 32 last three tourneys. Couple that with a T-9 here last year, the fact he leads the PGA in eagles, and is a former winner in Europe, I think this line represents some value. One wildcard is his tee time. He'll go off at 1:50 local time in the last group, and with the weather situation at this tournament, that could mean a lot of holes on Friday if he doesn't get his first round in.

Not sure how I am playing my other two picks, so I'll post them later.

Good luck this week.

Top 10
Tag Ridings 18-1 @ Stan James
--Tag is definitely not a model of consistency. He slid in at 125th on the money list in '04 to keep his card. He's missed more cuts than he has made. But he did have two decent rounds on Days 1 and 2 here last year. This scoring format should favor him somewhat. What caught me eye was his high birdie conversion percentage on tour this year (he's ranked 14th) and his being ranked 11th in eagles. He's not really a bad putter either. So if he can play somewhat consistent this week and hit his greens, he could crack the Top 10 for a second time this year.

Interesting bet, I will keep my eye on it. Good Luck!!!

adding 1st rd prop
Toms (+1/2) -110 over Tway

Will be LC&P today after washout yesterday--makes prior props weaker but like this better as result.

Sure hate to see them play 36 today--will be tough on the older and out of shape at this alltitude--will make it tough in Mayfair in particular--liked his chances before as he was leading GIR here last year and only Singh has better birdie/eagle stats this year.
