The baseliner was hit with the suspension from competition after he tested positive for the prohibited diuretic hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) at the ATP tournament in Acapulco, Mexico in February.

????????????? HCTZ, and you get banned? How does that help you compete in tennis? Somebody who knows please explain, because I'm baffled. That's the most common b/p medicine/diuretic there is.

Well, did my own research and found that since this drug is a diuretic people use it to mask steroid test results. Learn something new everyday. I also found that it is banned in powerlifting and cricket as well. I suppose if you have a prescription for it, it owuld be ok to take??

It just shows that Tennis Associations care more about their sport than others do.

I think it's an absolute disgrace on all parties: the Player's Union, Owners, and the League office what they have let happen to what USED TO BE America's Past Time.
