The Patriots -4 at home over the Saints.

As reported on MNF last night both teams have agreed to play their starters into the third quarter of Thursdays game. I think you guys will agree with me the Pats starters are a bit better then the Saints starters and the Pats rotation at QB after Brady exits is a healthy dose of Doug Flutie who may play the rest of the game. I don't feel the Saints have the depth especially in the Defensive backfield to "hang in this one" and cover the small 4 points. I don't like this one as much as my hammer play of the Bills +6.5 outright last week, but I think it's worth a shot since your only giving 4 points at home. I wouldn't be surprised to see this line to move to -6 or so by gametime so if your foing to play it don't wait.

IT OPENED AT 5.5 AND IS NOW AT 3.5

I thinks that is because of the initial reaction to Tom Brady being hurt which is not the case from everything I heard and read. He's slated to play a good deal on Thursday. :)

Being from New Orleans LOL I think I know these Saints. Both teams plan on playing the starters midway through the 3rd. Not good news for the aints.

The Patriots will destroy this pathetic Saint team.

The Saints are really really bad and still think that Aaron Brooks is the next Joe Montana LOL

I hammering this bad boy for a Dime. My biggest play so far this year. I went to the Saints first preseason game and let me tell you. They are bad. I think they will be lucky to get 5 wins this season.

No QB + No Coach = a Losing Season

Look for Haslett to be fired mid season.,

LINE NOW AT -3. LEANING TO THE SAINTS ONLY BECAUSE I LOVE TO GO AGAINST THE PUBLIC. I ALREADY TEASED IT UP TO +9. IN THIS LEAGUE ONE THING I FINALLY LEARNED IS YOU HAVE TO FORGET WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK. ALL TEAMS KNOW HOW TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS AND PLAY BETTER.

If you like to against the public the you will take the Pats. I think its the public that drove it from 5 to 3. Looks like the public money is on the Aints.

I have followed the Saints for Over 20 years and believe me.... When I heard on the talk show that starters are going midway through the 3rd quarter on both teams this is probably the easiest bet all preseason. I would play the Pats up to -10.

I guess everybody will see what we have been seeing for years when they play on FOX.

The Saints suck. I agree you cant go by how a team played the last week because they make adjustments. Trust me the Saints are too dumb to make adjustments.

Over the years the Saints have traded away too much talent for nothings. You have a owner that cares about one thing. $$$$$$$$$$$ and the players here don't play to win they play for the $$$$$$$

Sorry there is noway I could bet on these overpaid adolescents

From Covers

Like New England?s secondary, backers had better act fast. Sharp bettors are well aware of Haslett?s plans and it?s only a matter of time before the public catches on. Once enough money rolls in on the Saints, oddsmakers will drop the spread in an attempt to bring more money back on New England.

It?s already begun as a number of books have New Orleans as 3 ?-point road dogs ? half a point lower than their opening mark.

?I think it?s good line value now if you like New Orleans with a coach stating he?ll play his starters for almost three quarters,? says George. ?Because the line will drop when the money starts coming in later in the week.?

Money will be on the Aints but not mine. Hell, I think the Pats 4th string could beat the Saints.

Think I left out the most important thing in that article

New Orleans allowed nearly 400 total yards on defense and committed three turnovers on offense en route to a 34-15 loss as 3-point faves.

Here are some trends

NEW ENGLAND is 16-6 ATS (+9.4 Units) in home games in August games since 1993.
NEW ENGLAND is 27-13 ATS (+12.7 Units) in non-conference games since 1993.
NEW ORLEANS is 13-3 ATS (+9.7 Units) in road games when playing with 6 or less days rest since 1993.

Wow you sound like a bitter fan. lol

i feel ya my broncos and cowboys were certainly disappointing last year....

However i think your aints will be better this year. They beefed up the offensive line and i hear new OC Mike Sheppard is doing wonders with Aaron Brooks. Even if Brooks still cant thrive in the new simplistic offense of scheme they should still have a good running game.

As far as Defense goes they at least made some improvements...Still have Howard. Dwight Smith was good pick up.

The Pats lost a lot on the defensive side in the off season. I think teams will be able to run on the Pats this year. Tonight should be a good indicator. I liked NO at 4.5 but I will not touch it a 3.

Last game was not a good watermark for the Saints. The turnovers all led to scores and put the game away. The first string did not actually give up any "drives". The bulk of the yardage began pouring in when the scrubs opened the floodgates for Seneca Wallace.

I'm staying away from this one. I think the Pats have and advantage in the 1st and 4th quarters, but the Saints should have an advantage in the 2nd and 3rd.

LOL No not bitter I have the Tigers thank God.

I guess when you cant win regular season games you better win when given the opportunity. I think Haslett sees a chance to win a game by playing his startes against the Pats 2 and 3rd team. I cant wait for him to spit in the tv camera tomorrow or after the game when he realizes that his 1st team could even be considered a 2nd or 3rd team for the Pats.

Just cant stand Haslett. This guy is a joke. Last year he wanted to beat his team up LOL. The team has no respect for this guy.

How can a coach beat his players up and then ask them to play for him...

Sheppard... LOL he needs to come up for air and get off his knees. Brooks is not going to make this team a winner.

Being in New Orleans you just get tired of all the shit with Benson and the Saints. You couldnt give me season passes to the Saints for Free. I went to their last game because I was drunk down town on Burbon Street and somebody gave us the tickets. LOL he almost paid me to take the tickets.

Not sure what the prices for a beer at other stadiums but man almost $10.00 a beer. Shit good thing I was drunk before I got there.

Bottom, line is I love the Saints but I have to accept reality. THEY SUCK

I think were the only team in the NFL who has not won more than one game in the playoffs. I promise you if the Saints ever win the Super Bowl I think the city will close down for a week and the Mayor will die of a stroke.

I figured this out two years ago. It would cost me nearly 200 bucks to go to a game so this is what I did. I buy me a case a beer and bet 200 on the other team. This way if the Saints won then I figured I would have spent it at the game anway. However, if the Saints lost then I got drunk for free and was ahead +200.

Good luck which everway you go but I think they get killed tonight.

if the public is all over the Pats wouldn't the line be going up????
Like CCMAN said, sometimes the public is on one team, but it goes the other way, which means that something is up, and I wouldn't touch the pats in this case.

I can't remember what sites you can check wagers being placed, but this one at least gives you an idea of what the public is probably doing. All of consensus picks are actually made by users on the site that participate in contests, not actual wagers, but its the next closest thing to see who people are betting on. There's a lot more during the season and the gap even spreads bigger, but in this case 74% is choosing Pats and only 26% on Saints.
