What do you think of this years version? How about the QB vision thing? I hate it. I gave it a week to get used to it and just couldnt so I turned it off. Just too freaking many things to think about. Maybe in 2-3 years with a few tweaks it will work but I wasnt impressed with this version.

I like it much better than I thought I would but I am an ESPN NFL 2K franchise fan who had to convert to Madden this year after not really playing it for a few years. I haven't really loved Madden since the old Sega Genesis versions as I switched to the NFL 2K series when Dreamcast came out and never looked back until forced to this year. I don't have much of a problem with the QB vision thing. I played both with the vision on and off and statistically it did not make much difference in my passing stats although I do think I was slightly better with it turned off. At least they allow you to turn it off rather than force you to use it.

I was an old 2K2 Dreamcast guy myself. Who were you using as your QB out of curiosity? I mean its pretty easy with Manning for example because he sees the entire field.

definatly needs tweaking,,if your not a superstar quarter back you can never trow to your 3rd option, you will be saked by that time.

I agree, I think this year it might have hit a wall. I've been buying Madden since as long as I had Genesis and I know I will buy it on Xbox 360 as well, but at some point, its like, what else can they add? Seems like this year they were just tweaking for tweaking sake, I wasnt as floored by this version as I have been in the past. Maybe they are just waiting for 360 to come out and have a ton of guys working on that side of the house? Either way, not a "bad" game by any means, just not what I've come to expect from new Madden releases

Yeah I would have liked to see them go deeper in the franchise modes still and not fukc with the gameplay much. They even switched the buttons around which was retarded, they have been the same for like 5 years!

Sorry Agent ... just finally got back to view the thread today. Most of the time, I was using McNabb since I am an Eagles fan although I had played one game with the Panthers and I did fine with Delhomme as well. However, last night I used the Lions against a friend of mine who hasn't played Madden in years and he used the Patriots. We were playing on the pro level and he was home and Harrington absolutely sucked ... 2 of my first 3 passes were intercepted and I actually lost the game 17-14 to someone who really didn't have much of a clue.

Being someone who hasn't really played Madden in years, I can't comment on changes from last years version but I have become a fan of this version although it is very complex and gives you lots of options.

Ahh, there is the problem also, you are playing on Pro. I always play on All-Pro or usually All- Madden. Try that and let me know how u like it. :) U wont!!

Just had some time to take a crack at madden '06 against my roomates. Basically no different from last year except for the QB vision which was touched on above. I didn't like it that much. I mean playing against my friends who blitz nonstop, you're telling me I have to left toggle backwards to get clear of the line, right toggle to change my field of vision to stay on a MOVING RECEIVER all the while trying to fine one that's open.

Yeah right :sadwave:

Of course w/ star qbs it's not an issue but where's the fun in that?

I know if you're playing on PS2 you can lock your vision on any of the receivers... if you hold R2 and press the receiver's button you're quarterback will change his vision to focus on that receiver... its much easier then using the right stick

Okay nice. I knew you could do it before the snap but was not aware that I could change them mid-play.

Thanks.

Ok, you can play online without QB vision. My buddy and I played a spawned franchise game and we both had QB vision off and it was off  So I guess the key is BOTH players must have it off under the individual profiles.
