9-9-1

In week 3, home dogs with one win are just 2-7 ats.

PLAY: Buff -3 (2.01)
NE -3 (1.97)

Tennessee -3 should also be a play, but it now seems that SF are going with Rattay as their no. 1 QB, and he will start this game.Tennessee should still be far too good, but Rattay has looked good so far?? Still thinking on this one. Should get a better price for the Titans if nothing else.

Jets -6.5? Not sure about this one either, since they are not really an away team.
2 extra points in this one are that Manning is injured and won't play in this game, but Hasselbeck has been ok.
The other is that the Giants want revenge for what they thought where some needless hits by the Jets in a 'meaningless' scrimmage a few weeks back.
So you can be sure the Giants will be playing hard until the end, but have they got the talent to stay in the game?? Not sure.

(Just a side note on these pre-season 'systems', week 2 calls for winless dogs, and sure enough they went 3-1 last week. Remind me just to play them and not think too much about it next year! :cursin: )

Thanks fella's. :mj14:

Houston +3.5

Dallas are coming off a short week after playing Monday night as it is, but the Dallas players will get Tuesday and Thursday off, giving them effectively just 2 days of practice this week.
Houston are going to play their starters well into the 3rd quarter, and their 1st string offense has looked good in the short bursts they have been on the field.
They also spend Wednesday game-planning specifically for Dallas, so it looks like they will go out to win this one.
The line has already dropped from +5, but 3.5 is still nice.

Baltimore @ New Orleans under 37.5

New Orleans played their offensive starters well into the 3rd quarter last week to get some offensive flow and points on the board.
This week they will play for only a limited time (esp. Brooks) as the coaches want to have a good, long look at 3rd and 4th string QB's, Kingbury and McPherson to see who will make the roster.
Baltimore are really struggling offensively with both Boller and Wright looking plain bad so far. No Jamal Lewis, so they look likely to continue to have trouble putting points on the board.
NO defense has been consistantly beating their offense in camp this week, so I like getting the under at 37.5

San Fran v. Tennessee over 41

Going with the over here, rather than taking the Titans on the assumption that the 49'ers will score with Rattay at the helm. They have scored 21 in both games already with Smith starting (although, they have been a bit lucky with those).

In 2 games so far Rattay has 13/19 for 194 yards, 3 TD's and no picks. (Admittedly against a lot of back-ups)
McNair, 21/29 for 204 yards, 1 TD and 1 int

Both defenses look ordinary at best,so there's no reason we shouldn't see plenty of scoring with both no. 1 offenses out on the field for most of 3 quarters.

Indi @ Denver over 43 (1.85)

The Colts have shown nothing offensively in 3 games so far, due to a) starters getting limited time; b) some fatigue from the Tokyo trip; c) a lot of injuries...But they plan to turn that all around on Saturday.
Manning and the starters will play well into the 3rd quarter to get the offense running more smoothly, so I expect to see them get some points on the board.
They are still thin on defense tho, so the Denver starting offense should also be able to put up some big numbers.
So far, in 2 games Plummer is 13/19 for 171 yards and 2 TD's, and the running game looks as strong as ever.
In the last 9 meetings, stretching back to 1990, only one game has gone under this number. (7 over, 1 push)...and the 2 meetings last year were 33-14 @ Denver and 49-24 @ Indi.

Miami v. Tampa Bay under 35.5

More of a weather pick, as there is a cyclone currently over Southern Florida. It's dumping large amounts of rain (as seen in the Jacksonville game today), and it's expected to be windy for the next few days (20+ mph winds).
Miami have scored 20 points in 2 games anyway, and both Tampa games have totalled 37, but needed OT in one and a late TD and 2 pt. conversion in the other.
Again, 6 of the last 7 meetings have gone comfortably under this number...also 6 of the last 7 pre-season meetings have gone under this number.
Get it over with and get out of the rain!

Good luck guys!
