Ray it's Friday noon and supplies are finally arriving by convoy. Thank God. But you are right it should have been there Tuesday/Wednesday. I hope a few folks lose jobs. Wait till Americans find out what Joe Scarborough said yesterday. About they new the dikes needed repair back in 2000 but there was no 5 billion around to get started. Dropped from budget since 2001. What you think it will cost now 30 billion.

Yeah but once the city was built and thriving, couldn't just abandon it either. New Orleans was once the 2nd biggest port to New York. It was the supply channel to the entire Mississippi River system.

The levess could only handle a Cat 3 storm??!!! WTF is that all about. The odds of a Katrina one hitting shore were ..I don't know ...about 100%. Clearly the assholes were just skimping out and playing the odds that it wouldn't happen under their watch.

$5 billion could have put New Orleans on par with Amsterdam - city saved and secure in case of something like Katrina.

So to sum up - we could have invested $5 billion on something we had 100% knowledge of to save lives, money, an extrememly important American city.

---But we spend $300 billion and actually lose a bunch of lives elsewhere based on incomplete information. LOL - We could have saved New Orleans 60 times over with that money:rolleyes: .

TIME TO GET OUR PRIORITIES IN ORDER.

Raymond, maybe your right, maybe shouldn't have been built. But come on brother, those hurricanes (drinks) were good down there. Was down there in86, just before my accident. Patriots got killed by Chicago in Super Bowl. But what a fun place. It probably will never be the same.

I love some of you giving the mayor of N.O. a bunch of shit about hiding! You can give him shit about some things for sure but HE stayed in the city with his people. He didn't run and evacuate and he could easily have done so.

Get a clue ryson you bonehead.

Should they ever build there. Not sure who you would ask. We have to go back about 200 years and ask them why.

I see so people dont listen and its everybodys fault but there own typical liberal mindset !

On Monday the Mayor of N.O. was telling people they can come back on Tues and the media was reporting that N.O was spared the brunt of this storm due to it moving slightly east . Suddenly Tues they lost some pumping stations which led to the demise of the levee system ,you know the one that was built in 1940 IIRC and the one built to withstand and cat 3 now, all of the sudden nobody is responding quick enough and they are pointing at the government ....what a ****ing joke ! The way people are acting down their is down right riduclouse !

1. They are shooting at the Helicopters trying to lend aid and evac people from hospitals ....Thats the Governments fault ???

2. Totally disgusting ! We have to mobilize our millitary to bring order back to the city thats supposed to be evacuated ? shootings in hospitals ??? French quater under attack ? wtf is this ?? Police station in french quater attacked by men with AK 47's thats the governments fault ???

3. I have never been so embarrased in my life about the people in this county ! the people effected by the tragedy 20 times worse than Katrina IE the Tsunami's from 3rd world country's didnt behave like this ! Biloxi got hit the hardest they took the 20 to 25 ft surge how come their handling this just fine ? some looting yes but shooting at rescuers not in Mississippi , thats disgusting !

3. My wife is a Nurse my sister is a Nurse we agreed that I would watch the kids and she and my sis would offer assistance to N.O. for a week to help ...in fact their Hospital had 10 Doctors and 40 Nurses they were going to send down ......shit one night watching their behavior and there was no way in hell I was gonna let her go down there and be shot at ! In fact the entire effort was scrapped ! Nobody in their right mind would go into a war zone like that . I am hearing many hospitals had plans simular and many if not all were scrapped !

4. I seen a man holding up his 1 year old bitching he had no formula ! The guy should be put in jail for even thinking of staying there with a child ! For over 36 hr's they could see this thing comming rt at them, I could have walked out of harms way in that time and would have done just that if I had a small child. Put all that aside and you still have to wonder how the **** someone can decide to stay with a small child like that and not even have the common sence to stock up on formula and water ! Wtf its like these people decided to stay and did nothing to prepare !

This is the piece of crap citizens not the US government thats out of line ! Thats why all the bitching and moaning is comming from N.O. and not from Biloxi and Mobile

Maybe you will listen to one of your own forum members thats been through this already :

i went through andrew in miami in 92 lost my house , trust me it takes 3-4 days after storm to get people in we ad it bad, they have it bad and then all the water. there is more being done then these news stations are showing, just places like NO hard to get supplies into. Like i said we got supplies in country side 4 days later ,you don't see all the shit on the ground in NO like big trees and shit because of water, then you just don't understand how crazy people get, trust me I saw it first hand that does not help.

Sounds like the Government is doing a much better job than it was in 1992 ! And nobody was being shot at hmmmmm go figure !
